  3. Review titled Very friendly and efficient

I took a friend to A and E and she was dealt with in a professional manner. The nurses, and doctors were all very respectful and kind. They showed real attention and showed compassion and understanding. She got very good care and was given a full CT scan to ensure the diagnosis was correct. At all times we knew exactly what was going on and how long we would have to wait. All in all an excellent experience.

I attended A and E with stomach pains, I was frightened. The staff were so so kind and helpful. I have used East Surrey a number of times over the last 7 years and they are just Fab. I have to attend for a Endoscopy soon and although I am frightened I know they will look after me xxx thank you East Surrey

I wanted to express my thanks to the ambulance crew that came out and helped my husband they were all so friendly and helpful during a difficult time. Also the nurses in A&e and the SAU were brilliant.

  7. Review titled Great friendly staff, Incredibly efficient.

I have Ulcerative colitis so I receive colonoscopies every few years, so I have somewhat of an idea of what to expect. This was my first time having one at East Surrey Hospital though. Usually when you have one, there's an hour or so of waiting before someone comes to get you, then you get the procedure, then recovery and the whole thing takes a few hours, I had always just assumed this was how long the whole thing took. Not at east Surrey hospital I went in at 10:45 and was out in time for a much needed lunch. The whole procedure took just under 90 mins from admission to being discharged. The staff were lovely and absolutely first rate. My gastroenterologist was very good (sadly the review system doesn't allow me to name him), as were the nurses (sadly I can't remember their names as I'd been shot full of fentanyl and Midazloam). I'd highly recommend ESH as a place to get a colonoscopy done.

  8. Review titled humanity

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was in two departments, post operative and discharge wards. In both the staff were courteous yet not over familiar. although understaffed they worked extremely hard so that we as patients didn't feel any lack of care and attention. Information was shared, and what was discussed happened. Only two negative observations: firstly a tap was left running in the discharge ward for over two hours and secondly could delays in operating slots be shared with patients. The first item could save the trust a whole load of money if taps are left running in every ward and secondly my wait of 8 and a half hours would have been less stressful had I been told to go for a walk or sit outside for half an hour. Thank you for a hopefully good outcome.

  9. Review titled Very well looked after

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 March 2024

Just wanted to share what a wonderful experience I had at East Surrey Hospital this week. I went to A&E in considerable pain and was seen quickly, assessed and provided with painkillers. 7 hours later I was admitted onto Brockham Ward and taken almost straightaway to have an appendectomy. Every single member of staff was amazing. I had every process clearly explained and was able to ask lots of questions. I went home 36 hours after arriving and have been recovering really well at home. I can’t thank everyone enough and a special shout out to the nurse who sang Mamma Mia with me immediately after I came out of surgery.

  10. Review titled Grateful Thanks

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Thank you to all the amazing staff in the A & E Department at ESH for your care and treatment of my husband today. He is awaiting surgery for a recently diagnosed abdominal aortic aneurysm and we were concerned that he felt unwell this morning. Within minutes of arriving in A & E he was triaged, then soon had ECG, blood tests, examination, CT scan of head and abdomen etc. We waited for results and all of this took about three and a half hours. Everyone was friendly and cheerful despite the fact that the Department was very busy. It’s just great to see the NHS working at its best and I think you’re all stars! Thank you so much again.
