Review titled Faultless service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Daniella - Posted on 04 July 2024
I rang 111 and was treated in the UTC within 1.5hours of calling in the middle of the night. Very welcoming and friendly staff and my treatment was very effective. The best NHS experience I've had, thank you!

Visited the urgent treatment centre, Monday morning. It was very busy, but the staff were polite, helpful and reassuring and able to leave after a two hour wait. Many thanks.

Be told nothing wrong or no sign of infection. Next day woke up felt same but would have been told in a nicer manner and to have been believed

Review titled Awful experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sofia - Posted on 10 June 2024
Came in today experiencing severe back pain and was informed of a 4 hour wait time. This isn’t the fault of the staff of course so I accepted this and waited for the full duration. The male receptionist was very standoffish and borderline rude but I didn't comment as didn’t want to cause a scene. After 4 hours I finally got seen to by a nurse only for her to tell me there’s nothing they can do as they can’t X-ray backs at this particular hospital. I simply cannot fathom how neither the person I spoke to at reception nor the nurse who did my triage could not have given me this information. They asked all the same questions as the nurse who I saw last did and surely they would have been aware of this. Instead I sat all that time for absolutely nothing leaving in worse pain than I arrived in. Absolute shambles.

Review titled Clinical staff excellent, extremely poor receptionist
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Attended the UTC with my daughter who had been injured on sports day at school. It was very busy as usual. A gentleman was there with his 95 year old mum who had had a bad fall. Had been sitting waiting in a wheelchair for several hours, he asked for a blanket for her as she was getting cold. Receptionist said No, we don’t have any, we are not a hospital!’ When asked again, repeated ‘we are not a hospital!’. Funny - I thought it was called the East Riding community hospital. How on earth did it get to this? Evidently the man would have had to leave his mum, walk through to the ward side of the hospital and track down a blanket from there. Couldn’t leave his mum alone, and also didn’t want to go off and risk missing being called. Eventually a person accompanying a patient who could be left went to track one down. Receptionist’s attitude could not have been worse, total lack of care and compassion from her. It must be a difficult job but basic decency absolutely missing. Why do that job if you don’t want to help? Appalling attitude. Clincal staff who treated my daughter were lovely and can’t fault them but the receptionist let everyone down. This should not be allowed to happen. Last time I looked on the sign outside this location was called East Riding Community Hospital!

Review titled The receptionist was rude and ill mannered
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Martin P - Posted on 04 April 2024
The receptionist was rude and ill mannered. Asking to speak to somebody in charge the female nurse refused to tell if the manager was present. All the other patients commented on how rude and ill mannered the receptionist is. This place needs a thorough investigation with new staff and a new manager. No alcohol hand gel was present on the entrance to the building. Zero stars for customer service

Review titled Extremely rude receptionist
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Waited 12 hours to speak to a doctor after being very unwell, doctor was fantastic. However there was an issue with the dispensing pharmacy and opening times so I called the treatment centre to attempt to get a message to the doctor. The receptionist is very reluctant to help and rude. My call ended up with her shouting at me and telling me I am verbally abusive and slamming the phone down one me! I was definitely not abusive and I'm hoping and praying calls are recorded so it can be looked in to. She must have gone back to the doctor because he called me half an hour later to rectify the query. The doctor was lovely and apologised for the way the receptionist spoke to/treated me. I told him it's not his fault, he had done a fab job. The doctors etc there are excellent and have really helped me and my children before. However the receptionist is extremely rude and quick to get aggressive. I hope this can be sorted.

Review titled Rude Receptionist
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Kerrie Oglesby - Posted on 20 February 2024
On arrival at Beverley Urgent Care with my 86 year old father who had an open wound, we were told rather rudely and abruptly by the receptionist that we shouldn't have come and should have been seen by the district nurse. We had called the district nurse who advised us to attend the hospital due to the size of the wound and we informed the receptionist of this only to be told that in future see the district nurse. When we went through to see the nursing staff they were very helpful and understanding and I cannot fault them in any way. However, the receptionist upset my mum and father with the way she spoke to us at a very upsetting time.

Waiting room overcrowded and smelled of urine . 5 hr wait - staff couldn't give any indication of wait time. Appeared have only 1 doctor on. My son has autism and was struggling with the smell and noise along with his injury.- staff couldn't care less. I witnessed the receptionist being rude to an upset mother - shouting comments after her as she left . We quietly Left after 3 hrs and went to another centre - seen & treated in less than 2 hrs .

Review titled Great practise
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Peter Mountain - Posted on 13 November 2023
I attended the Unit today and was seen by two of your staff(A gentleman and a Lady) who treated an open wound to my head. Firstly i have to say that the two of them were very professional and conducted a very thorough assessment prior to attending to the wound on my head. I trust that my comments will get back to them both-I was very impressed, hence me posting this brief review
