  1. Review titled Amazing support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Madeleine Duke - Posted on 21 September 2022

I was diagnosed with skin cancer over a year ago and have had many interactions, all positive, with the dermatology cancer care nurses during this time. I have been hugely impressed by their professionalism and support. Earlier this month I had an appointment. The consultant and two cancer care team members went above and beyond to support me. I was truly overwhelmed and am so grateful. DCH and skin cancer suffers are lucky to have such an incredible team. Thank you all.

  2. Review titled Thumbs up: A&E, Stroke team and Illchester ward

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Helen - Posted on 14 September 2022

Dad was taken by ambulance to A&E, seen immediately and all obs and scans quickly organised. This was followed by great communication between A&E and stroke team. Dad subsequently moved to Illchester ward where great communication continued between the ward and the stoke team. All the doctors and nurses that Dad saw from all the departments had excellent listening skills and did not rush any communications with him. Dad saw at least 3 doctors and several nurses. They all took time to look at Dad's medical notes, discuss his medical history, listen to details of his emergency situation and run tests. All the staff seemed genuinely concerned and dedicated to giving Dad the best medical care. Dad was ultimately diagnosed with a mini stroke and given appropriate treatment. This was not an easy diagnosis as Dad has other medical problems and great care was taken to ensure thorough diagnosis. The staff were very busy but this did not impede the excellent care given to Dad, even though other emergencies were being managed. Dad was kept up to date at all times while waiting to see different medical professionals. Can't fault the lovely people who all cared for Dad today from roughly 9.00 am to roughly 7.30 pm. Shout out to the cleaners in A&E who were keeping the place spotless, even cleaning the tops of all the doors though to wiping the already clean floors. Thanks for also providing Dad with food and drinks. All very efficient.
