I had a TIA at home and taken to Darent Valley where after a scan and few tests I was able to go home. A few hours later I was called to return to the hospital for CT and MRI scans. The MRI scan showed minor brain damage and I was detained overnight for observations I was discharged 24 hours later and throughout my unexpected experience I received absolutely excellent care and treatment from everyone. Very many thanks to you all - the NHS at its best

  3. Review titled Bad experience

I got rib injury 3 weeks ago before today I visited emergency department twice they gave me pain killers both times which didn’t help me at all I visited emergency department 3rd time today I reached there 12 o’clock and booked in around 12:20 don’t remember exact time can be 5 minutes later or earlier they sent me to go I waited there for 4 hours I had rib injury I was unable to sit and had breathing problem as well they gave pain killer again when I asked that it’s been 4 hours m waiting they said no you checked in 2 o’clock not 12 and gp wait time is 3-4 hours I was so stressed why they put 2 o’clock and I said check your cameras what time I came in she refused by saying I can’t check I can’t do anything you have to wait . My pain got worse that’s why I decided to go back to home then she said okay go home take painkiller . That’s so annoying staff they don’t have any answer to our questions just say don’t know or can’t do anything My pain is still worse it’s been 3 weeks they didn’t do any scan or X-rays even I have hard breathing all the time . I don’t know why we are paying for health insurance if we can’t get treatments after that I came back home after whole day spending there…

  4. Review titled Good Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Theresa Fitton - Posted on 06 October 2024

I visited A&E today and although there were a lot of patients I was dealt with. I had to wait but I was seen with professional care and told about the tests and blood tests X-Ray . I was given lunch and coffee because of the time I had been there. The Dr was very thorough and I had a good experience.

  5. Review titled Patients Know Best portal.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mike - Posted on 24 October 2024

Started to use the Patient Knows Best portal to communicate with me without consent. Never registered for this and now had to spend time in opting out of something I never opted into. I am building a list of patients (many of whom who are elderly) who have had a similar experience. The enforcement of technology on the elderly is an appalling activity that needs to be investigated and stopped.

  6. Review titled Poor understanding of autism

by Katrina James - Posted on 02 October 2024

Took my severely autistic grandson to peadatrics a+e after swallowing a plastic toy at his special needs school he was very anxious and had a complete meltdown after waiting in there for over an hour he was screaming hysterically my daughter was crying yet they saw what seemed to be minor injuries before she was offered a room to sit in with him by this point there was no calming him down finally spoke to doctor who advised an x ray by this point though this would have been impossible to do without causing him further stress we had to leave there should be some kind of arrangement for children with neurological problems very distressing for all involved

  8. Review titled Amazing Service and Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by CHRISTINE AMELIA CLEMENTS - Posted on 18 August 2024

Having been sent by my GP to A & E I was expected by the department and welcomed in. The care and thoroughness of all the staff, despite being incredibly busy, was amazing. After several tests and consultations I was eventually admitted to a ward at 11.30pm - yet the staff were really attentive and kind as they settled me in. Then followed an 8 day stay while the team of doctors caringly followed my progress, diagnosed my problem and helped me to recover and be fit to send home. I have nothing but praise and thanks to All the staff on the ward, from medical through to catering and cleaning - all were kind, helpful, caring and efficient, even though their workloads were high. Thank you to Everyone who cared for me at DVH.
