  1. Review titled Should know the difference between neurology and urology

Rated 1 star out of 5

I went to see an urology consultant on 17th July 2024 and I received a letter dated the 13th August 2024 (nearly a month later) confirming what was discussed at the appointment. Unfortunately, I could not have the procedure done at Cobham Day Surgery but a referral was typed out to Epsom and St Helier to be put on the waiting list there for the procedure. However instead of saying a referral would be made to urology, they said the referral would be made to neurology! You would think that they would know the difference between a brain and a mans private part. So: 1) Why did it take so long, a month to make a referral? 2) Does anyone actually bother checking the contents of a letter before it is sent out? After contacting Cobham day surgery a number of times, every time they promised to call back they never did. I have been left in a lot of pain. Now the consultant is away after trying to sort the issue when he was available. Terrible service.

  2. Review titled Forcing procedures

Rated 1 star out of 5

Recently diagnosed with Endometriosis after a long hard battle to convey that my periods were not normal. Finally getting a referral to gynaecology felt like it was moving in the right direction when I attended my appointment at Cobham Day Surgery I was met with a Dr who obviously didn't think this was worth his time. Stated to me that "Endometriosis is chronic so..."and gave me a blank stare. I have stated to my GP multiple times I cannot go back on the pill due to the severe affect it had on my mental health. This Dr seemed to think that was not as issue at all and the only option for me would be to get the coil fitted. I expressed to him that I did not want to go on the coil, as again that this severely affects me, but that was left deaf ears. I asked about certain procedures I had heard about, like keyhole surgery to remove it from the womb, he did not even let me finish my sentence before telling me that they just "don't bother" administering these surgeries. I was left to pick whether or not I wanted to have severe periods for the rest of my life or crippling mental health, being pushed into this corner while attending this appointment alone made me very upset and I started crying, the dr then proceeded up get very frustrated with me and rushed me for an answer. Not seeming to have a choice on my own body just wanted to leave, so agreed to everything the Dr said and then the next day after building up some courage I rang back the reception to cancel all further appointments. I understand the NHS is stretched as I work for LAS myself - but when a Dr has no compassion or care at all for the patient, even when they are visibly crying in front of them, and not seeming to give them a choice on their own body does make me rather exasperated.

  3. Review titled Beyond a joke

Rated 1 star out of 5

Have been to them to arrange an MRI for a serious issue. Waitied a month for the appointment to arrive nothing happened eventually chased the main hospital for the MRI to be told that the consultant had cancelled the appointment a few days after it was lodged with them. We were not informed of this and wasted the whole month..waiting. it then took another month to get it. The real pain is that I was told this is urgent and requires immediate attention. When eventually had the MRI which confirmed the seriousness of the issue. Yet 4 months later I am still waiting for something to happen. Consultant is constantly busy and is almost impossible to meet and sort it out when do meet get a blasé response . What bugs me is that I have been told my condition is serious and requires urgent attention yet this has not been the case. Only good point is the reception are very good and help as best as they can

  4. Review titled First class service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the hospital for day surgery on Tuesday 8th August 2023 and the service I received from reception on arrival to my discharge was seem less. I cannot find adequate words to describe the experience l had. Everyone cared about me, answered questions comprehensively and on a very personal basis, listening to my concerns. l was seen on time by a very enthusiastic and willing team. A big thank you.

This was my 4th Visit to Cobham Day Surgery Hospital. As my previous visit's which one included day surgery I have nothing to say other than the level of care is the best, all members of staff from the receptionist, doctors and nurses are charming, helpful and caring.

  6. Review titled Professional – with a smile!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was really nervous, as it was my first operation (basal cell carcinoma on my nose), but the nurses were patient and kind, and calmed my fears. A relaxed patient means a smoother operation. Receptionists were polite, friendly and efficient, and the lady surgeon did a quick and skilful procedure. I needed no subsequent painkillers, and the skin graft is healing well. Thank you so much to the team for a very professional job – served with a smile!

The treatment I received for the removal of a possible squamous cell carcinoma was performed with skill by the consultant and her team.
