  1. Review titled Mammogram results missing

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by DEA Slater - Posted on 28 November 2022

As a 50 year old whose mother and maternal aunt both have had breast cancer and whose brother died from cancer last year (genetic component), it doesn’t sit well with me that Charing Cross’ breast screening programme can’t seem to get my results to me despite the promises (yes, I’ve been on the phone to chase up) of popping another results letter in the post to my address (yes, they have the right one). It’s 5 weeks on and it would be great to know my results! Too bad putting a results letter in a letter box is hospital admin’s equivalent of scaling Everest; impossible to do.

  2. Review titled Not a great experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 October 2022

My recent breast scan was a totally different experience to the first one that I had 3 years ago. When I had the first one I was told to change in a cubicle and given a gown to cover myself before the exam started, the mammographer was very calm and reassuring and explained everything that was going to happen. When I had my recent one, I had to change in the same room as the mammographer and walk across the room with my breasts exposed which left me feeling very uncomfortable. I also found the mammographer to be quite abrupt

  3. Review titled Positive, well informed and friendly experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carol Robertson - Posted on 09 October 2022

I attended the Breast Care / Screening Assessment Clinic in Charing Cross Hospital on 3/10/22 and received the very best of service, I could not ask for more. Was met by the friendliest nurse ever, a fabulous communicator. Then a nurse took my details, a great listener and explained everything clearly and ensured I understood and had the opportunity to ask questions. Had another mammogram (ladies were very efficient and caring) and then ultrasound. All was clear and a good outcome for me. The team were just fabulous in every way. I can't praise them highly enough. Please pass on my thanks

  4. Review titled Fantastic blood clinic team, shame about state of building

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Adam - Posted on 20 September 2022

I had bloods taken a week ago in the blood clinic, west wing of the hospital. The staff were fantastic, very kind and conscientious when there was a mix-up with my paperwork. I also had a bad reaction to the blood being taken but I was looked after by a nurse (I am not allowed to give their name!), who was so compassionate and really looked after me until I pulled through. All the staff in the clinic seemed kind and supportive of one another, doing their best in a very busy part of the hospital. Thank you so much! The only other thing I would comment on is a more general observation - the hospital building itself is in dire need of renovation. Lots of areas of the hospital are dark and boarded up. Wall displays are stale and unwelcoming. Ceiling tiles are dirty, with many missing. This must really have an impact on the many fantastic people who work there. Investment urgently needed.
