On 7th October I attended Castle Hill for anterior cervical discectomy & interbody fusion surgery for which I can only offer the professionalism provided by all the staff that cared for me at Castle Hill. Previously I have not undergone any type of surgery & was therefore somewhat nervous & apprehensive. All the staff from Surgical Admissions, the highly skilled Neurosurgeons/Anaesthetist & the theatre personnel, plus the post operative staff on Ward 9, all collectively put me at ease at every stage whilst providing thoughtful & genuine care in every respect for which I am very grateful.

I attended a pre assessment clinic in cardiology outpatients and a week later was admitted to the cardiology day ward. The pre assessment appointment was on time and the process was efficient with clear information given. When I was admitted to the day ward for my procedure my allocated nurse was friendly, calm and efficient. They explained every process and were respectful throughout. I really appreciated the continuity they provided throughout what could have been a stressful day. Their care avoided that. The procedure took quite a while and whilst the cardiologist carrying out the procedure was not chatty they gave me relevant information and were obviously confident and knowledgable. The radiographer and nurses in the cath lab were focused on their work which gave me confidence and afterwards took time to explain everything and show me the images. I am very appreciative of the care I received which was excellent. During the day my phone would not work on the ward and the housekeeper and my allocated nurse went above and beyond to ensure my relative who had waited for me were kept up to date and informed of my progress putting their mind at rest. The environment in outpatients and on the ward was calm and quiet. It was kept clean throughout. I was offered food and drink regularly throughout my stay. My only concern would be the information on the NHS app was not accurate. The waiting times were listed as 23-24 weeks for treatment. I was 33 weeks from referral to being seen

I visited the clinic for a tooth removal, the staff were all lovely and kind, and made sure I felt comfortable before, during and after the procedure. Thank you!

I was having a full knee replacement on 30/09/24 and would like to thank all the staff from pre-assesment to all the staff nurses doctors cleaners staff who served food on ward 9 the physios all theartre staff to the anethiest who kept me calm to the consultant who preformed my operation . I am at home carrying on with my excersises but just wanted to thank you all so very much for your consideration and kindness caring for me what a pleasant hospital and staff.

I arrived by taxi at the Outpatients Dept of Castle Hill with my husband who cannot walk far. I couldn’t see a wheelchair anywhere so enquired in the Ultrasound Dept. A porter who I can’t name went off and searched for the wheelchair and brought it back for us. Luckily he was nearby when our appointment was finished and took us back to where we could pick up our taxi. Great service from a lovely man. Well done.

Huge shout out to a brilliant orthopaedic surgeon who I am not allowed to name and the amazing team at Castle Hill Hospital daycare centre for the brilliant treatment and care I received there today! From start to finish I couldn’t fault a thing … efficient, caring and professional throughout. The NHS staff face so much criticism these days I feel that I must give credit where it is due … well done everyone, you’re doing a great job!

Like anyone I was nervous about having a hip replacement . From the moment I arrived I was cared for so well . Every person I met looked after me , they worked as a team . My surgeon was kind , very positive , I completely trusted him to do the surgery. He visited me 4 times on the ward until I went home after 2 nights on ward 9 . The ward was spotless , all the staff were lovely

I attended plastics outpatients (physiotherapy) on 31 July. Service from therapists was excellent with a full explanation of my problem given? Details of treatment and management of injury were very clear. There was ample opportunity to ask questions for which detailed answers were given.

Was inpatient on ward 14 over last 2 days. Great greeting from ward Clerk, friendly attentive care from the nurses and student nurses. Extremely professional down in Radiology dilation team. Made my unpleasant procedure more bearable. Thank you

Having just spent 18 nights on ward 7 of this fine hospital I could not fault any of the treatment or care I received from everyone from the doctors nurses auxiliary staff . Hospitals are not where any one wants to spend time but due to the care and treatment it made my visit bearable.If I have the misfortune to need any further treatment I'm all for revisiting this hospital with it's excellent staff.Thank you
