Review titled Endoscopy Department…Wonderful Team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Su Roper - Posted on 09 December 2023
Colonoscopy today, very nervous. From the time of arrival, the nurse holding my hand, the procedure and then the after care with a cup of tea and a biscuit. They are a superb team.

I came with my 6 years old on the out of hours Gp suite on 2nd of December after a 111 call that made an appointment for us. Fever and ear ache the doctor prescribed antibiotics. He checked my son and was so kind and spoke so nicely and explained everything to us. Thank you for having such great doctors on duty. All my previous experiences there were great! Thank you!

Review titled Hospital Transport
by Tarzan. - Posted on 05 December 2023
Hi, I’m a Dialysis patient at Cannock Hospital, I’m also a diabetic and suffer from heart failure having had four prior heart attacks. My complaint is, I get up at five o’clock and I’m picked up around 6 .15 am to go to Dialysis then I’m on the machine for four hours 3 times a week. Patient Transport are notified of our coming off time well in advance of our Dialysis end time, but it seems they choose to keep us waiting additional 2-3 hours before they pick us up, I already feel weak and on top of that I’m a diabetic on insulin, Patient Transport have a duty of care to us patients but it seems it does not bother them on many occasions I have had to make my own way home as I have had to wait well over two hours after Dialysis. This isn’t the way one should do business some people are waiting from 11- till 5 o’clock for a lift. Is there a possibility of stepping in and having a word with them as I cannot be waiting 2-3hours as I need to eat and have my insulin which I keep in my fridge. Also, after Dialysis all I want is to go to sleep! Hope you can help. Thank you Ps can you let me know something please..

The staff on the hilton main ward made my stay after a knee replacement a fantastic experience. every single member went up and beyond what was expected, every one was treated with the utmost dignity and respect and with great humour. Thank you for making it the most pleasurable hospital stay of my life, merry Christmas and a happy new year to all the consultants, theatre staff, nursing staff and not forgetting the cleaning staff, Merry Christmas to you all

Review titled Everything went smoothly from beginning to end
by humanitieset64 - Posted on 08 December 2023
Received pain killing injection in my foot. Good care from the beginning of the day. Used the patient transport from New Cross to Cannock Chase Hospital and back after the procedure. The nurses and surgeon couldn’t have done better, everything went smoothly from beginning to end.

Review titled Everyone was very kind and welcoming
by Jane727 - Posted on 07 December 2023
Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Very efficient and knowledgeable. They made me very comfortable and explained the procedure as they were doing it and what the follow up plan would be. The only downside was the ward and the corridors were cold. Even the staff were cold but they provided us with blankets. Overall they made the procedure less frightening than I thought it would be.

Review titled How lucky we are to have such a wonderful service
by december 23 - Posted on 22 December 2023
Excellent professional care from the minute of walking in to the Hospital. Very clear explanation of my procedure from the surgeon and anesthetist .I felt very safe and had no concerns about my surgery. The support given to me going to and from theatre was very good, so much care show to me, even down to the simplest of things such as getting dressed, this meant so much to me. I cannot thank all the staff enough. How lucky we are to have such a wonderful service.

Review titled Allowing relatives to wait on ward
by Pausn77 - Posted on 08 December 2023
Went into Cannock Chase for day minor procedure. Can’t fault the ward or staff, now this hospital is miles out for my wife and I to travel, on day of my appointment being changed I had to call to accept appointment so I said to them on the phone is my wife allowed to stay with me to save driving all the way back as she was sent home last time I was there. They said was it Covid times, I said yes, they then said it’s OK now she can stay with you! Got to the ward after paying £6 for car park only to be told she couldn’t wait again. So I would say a good way to improve as per last time would be to be able for a relative to be able to wait on the ward with the patient, there is no harm at all ! Then when patient goes down to for procedure wait then in the cafe not on ward, otherwise this would be a great hospital

Review titled The staff were wonderful
by Andrew418 - Posted on 21 December 2023
I recently attended the Hollybank ward at Cannock Chase Hospital to have 3 toes straightened and fused. From admission to departure, the staff were wonderful. They provided drinks and snacks aplenty, I was kept totally informed about everything, they enjoyed a sense of humour and banter whilst also remaining professional, and at no time was I made to feel like a burden. Superb. Honestly.
