My husband had a double bypass six days ago. I cannot find any fault with his treatment from start to finish. All contact with staff of all levels have presented as professional, dedicated, hard working and cheerful, instilling confidence and feelings of security. *****

  3. Review titled Amazing!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the dvt clinic in May and from start to finish the care I received was exceptional. I was reassured and all questions were answered well. I visited again this month and was pleased to see the same staff, they were all amazing! From the friendly receptionist, nursing staff, the lovely young man who escorted me for my scan. The lady who scanned me was thorough and had such a lovely calming nature about her. Wait times were minimal and the structure they have in place for appointments worked well

  4. Review titled Early Pregnancy Unit Rude

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 July 2024

I was having a lot of pain during the 5/6 weeks mark of my pregnancy and my partner suggested I called the EPU. I did and want greeted by the rudest receptionist ever. She made me feel invalid, like because my pregnancy was early it didn’t matter, and told me to get my bloods done and call back the next day. She didn’t give me any information on where or how to get my bloods done just told me to go to. I took myself to the blood clinic at Whitegate Drive only for the lovely nurse there to be so confused. I was panicking and stressing. I called back EPU with the lady next to me and the receptionist was so rude the lady nurse had to take over the call for me as she was disgusted by her behaviour. The receptionist put the nurse in charge on and she too was super rude but not nearly on the receptionist’s level. They spoke about me as if I was thick and stupid when I was scared and in pain. Please do not work in EPU if you have a lack of compassion and just generally have the personality of Mrs trunchball. After this I’m considering a move to Preston as I can’t see it getting any better.

  7. Review titled Good Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended today for Implantable Loop Recorder. First class service right from the start 2 young apprentice nurses assigned to look after me through what turned out to be 2.5 hours that I was in the department. They had other patients to look after as well and as I preceded the system they were always there. Fitting the loop was also brilliant the nurse specialist who carried out the fitting and her technical assistance were brilliant no pain or discomfort felt in anyway. was with them for about 20 minutes total. Back to recovery ward for a cup of coffee and some toast 30 minutes wait for your designated carers to arrive then give you the all clear to go home. This department sends out a broad message of how it should be done then do it. Many thanks for what this department did today.

  8. Review titled Great treatment poor canteen

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 June 2024

As a patient I’ve had great treatment at the hospital. The attitude of staff at the canteen to patients leaves much to be desired however. I experienced being unnecessarily moved from an area despite many hospital staff using it and was ignored at the payment desk after staff had been served. If patients are not welcome to use the canteen this should be made clear at the outset.

  9. Review titled Excellent Service from start to finish

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I required a surveillance colonoscopy an appointment was made and I was contacted by a support nurse to check my understanding of the procedure. I informed her that I was type 1 diabetic due to complications that diabetes causes when fasting I was made the earliest appointment on that day. I was contacted again to discuss what would happen the day before the procedure and my understanding was examined in a pleasant friendly manner. The moviprep medication was posted to with with full instructions including diabetes information. I was contacted again a couple of days before to confirm everything was fine. On the day of the appointment I arrived welcomed at reception, then introduced to a nurse who checked my blood pressure etcetera and talked me through the procedure checking my understanding without being condescending. In theatre I was made to feel at ease by two supportive nurses and the consultant. I have had several colonoscopies but never this thorough I watched on TV throughout the process everything was clearly explained I was in owe of the professional manner undertaken by all involved. Brilliant hospital be proud of what you do hold your head up high and Thank You ver much
