I was due to be transferred to another ward, and the ward they we’re putting me in, my mum had passed away there so I refused to go, as I was still a patient they had a duty to care to me! I was told to wait in a corridor which I said no to so they put me in a room and left me there for 4 hours! Absolutely disgusting service and rude staff.

The staff at this unit provided me with excellent care and service. Every person I came into contact with was highly professional. I was made to feel comfortable and at ease by friendly staff. The facilities, cleanliness but primarily the staff are excellent. A valuable asset to Basildon Hospital and to the NHS and more than worthy of a good pay rise.

Wanted to say a big thank you to the fantastic staff in the Endo department. Had a procedure here today, and everyone was outstanding and made everything so easy and comfortable. Keep up the good work.

I have just had a Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy and want to thank all those who helped me. The procedure was long and challenging. The doctors and nurses showed exceptional professional, surgical and caring skills, and were both attentive and compassionate.

Today I was meant to have an afternoon appointment for a colonoscopy. There must have been an error in the system as I got a phone call to say I was on the morning list. With a bit of a hurry, I made it to the appointment. When I arrived, I got taken straight through for a quick consultation and the full procedure was explained. The procedure went smoothly, with conversation on what was going on throughout. The nurses were polite and helpful and I could see the camera. Things were explained as they were doing them. As they finished, they did some final checks and then took me through to the recovery ward. There I was checked in on numerous times and given tea and some biscuits. I probably interacted with 10 different members of staff and they were all great. Done in less than 3 hours from entry to exit with professionalism and care. Thank you for making me comfortable.

I have been trying for most of the day to find out if an elderly relative has been admitted. Every time I have asked for the Operator and it rings the extension but no one picks up. Very frustrating when you are concerned about a relative. Please pick the phone!!!!!

On two occasions now I have had appointments for a scan for my twins.. on each occasion I have been left sitting outside the room for over a hour at a time. I arrive with 10 minutes to spare, but still waiting well over a hour, When I have been given a dedicated time and a slot long enough for a twin scan.. it’s happening every time I attend my appointments and I’m not happy at all! Something needs to be done about this. As it’s unacceptable for a 32 week pregnant women with twins to be sat waiting uncomfortable for all that time. When they have took time from work too for a 10am appointment but still sitting outside at 11.15am and continuing to wait!!!

I recently had my beautiful baby girl , 5 days ago to be precise. The team in the theatre were incredible. What a bunch of talented people. Who reassured me every step of the way. And gave me the best care and support. They brought my daughter into the world safely. And we’re all so kind from start to finish. Every single member of staff went above and beyond for us as a family and we couldn’t thank them enough. We’re extremely thankful and even left a Thankyou card and chocolates when leaving to show appreciation.

nurses in mulberry ward are horribly un-caring. No compassion or empathy. A group of 7 nurses standing in one room and talking and laughing from last half an hour and we a couple of pregnant women waiting for more than an hour now and every time we go and ask, they say there is an hour and 30 minutes wait. I have already waited for almost an hour and 10 mins. Not sure what all these are doing in this one room and we are stuck outside waiting! Always a worst experience to visit basildon hospital but unfortunately others are at a distaNce and I didn’t get accepted into any other hospital.
