I had undergone a general surgery procedure in January 2024, namely a key hole hernia repair. The whole process was well organised and honestly the staff have been wonderful throughout. I feel so very proud of our local hospital and lucky to have the good fortune of their care.

From checking in to leaving the endoscopy department all the staff were very friendly and put me at ease. All procedures and any complications were fully explained. I was really put at ease and received fantastic care

Experienced wonderful joined up care in the outpatients department gynaecology. All the staff that spoke with me were polite, friendly and made me feel totally at ease explaining every area of my care. Thank you

Attended opthalmology dept with brother . Arrived at 10 am as requested and by 10.20 he had finished his eye test etc and had drops instilled to await doctor . Almost 2 hrs later after asking a nurse where we were in queue we were told the doctor didn’t need to see him and just to make an appt in 4 months . An almost 2 hr wait to be told this and we also know it happened to another lady who was very irate with the staff. Surely this cannot be accepted procedure can someone not check if seeing him is necessary from the results before they have a 2hr wait

Last night’s staff couldn’t have been better. So friendly, helpful and caring… a real credit to our NHS. Today is a different story. My wife was awake at 6am and visited by 3 nurses so far…. Not one word from any of them. A quick look at her notes whilst chatting to a porter about personal (non hospital ) matters , then off. In the wrong profession if they have no care for patients.

We came with a complex set of symptoms The department was very busy clearly overstretched but still dealt with my husband with compassion ,they dealt with him as a person and not a diagnosis and tried to ensure that all the family were included in the treatment plan

I attended BDGH, Ward 38, on Friday 8th December in order to have gallstones removed. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for their care and attention. They were kind and very attentive and totally professional. I would also like to say a big “thankyou” to all the staff in the X-ray department who carried out the procedure. Again, they too were totally professional and caring. They are all a credit to the NHS. We are very fortunate to have such an excellent service. Thank you.

Your Review: I was taken by ambulance to A & E with a severe nosebleed. All the staff from Doctors to Student Nurses were absolutely brilliant. They were reassuring, friendly and caring. The Doctor explained fully what the plans were and checked I was OK with them. He couldn’t have been any kinder. This is an extremely busy department and they had some difficult patients to deal with but remained caring and professional throughout. Well done A & E and thank you so much for the care you gave me and my daughter.

My little boy went in with bronchiolitis and they was absolutely great, they helped me when I struggled to feed him, changed his nappy when I didn't hear him crying and overall lovely people to chat to and very friendly .(thank you for saving my boys life)

I visited the breast clinic and was seen promptly and given my results that morning. Fortunately I had good news. The nurse practitioner and mammographer were extremely kind and professional and I could not fault them. Thank you.
