Review titled Superb Practice - Vasectomy
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2024
I had my vasectomy procedure carried out and the doctor and nurse involved were outstanding throughout, i struggle with local anaesthetic not being effective enough and they both listened and continued with patience and care to make sure i was as comfortable as possible before continuing any part of the procedure, the Doctor and Nurse clearly illustrated their primary focus was my pain management and that it is was done with minimal pain as possible. The Doctors initial consultation put me at ease straight away and clearly illustrated his experience and expertise in the procedure and i had total faith and confidence in him. I was talked through the process and given ample opportunities to ask any questions i might have throughout. On both appointments, during my initial consultation and the appointment for my procedure i was seen within minutes of the allocated appointment time and never left waiting at all. Both the nurse and doctor illustrated exemplary duty of care and compassion in the health care service they were providing and is the prime example of how the standard within the NHS should be. You're a credit to the surgery and to the NHS and just wanted to say thank you for making the procedure and experience as comfortable and stress free as possible.

Review titled Receptionist are doctors now.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 October 2024
I asked if I could see a nurse after being told by the hospital one would be available, because I am bed bound after an operation, to be told by receptionist that other patients who have had the same operation as me make go to surgery. I cant travel all drive a car at the moment. I don't think a receptionist should be saying those kind of comments to a patient to make them feel worse. After all I am asking for a nurse on the advise and practise nurse referral letter the hospital gave me. I am now left to look after a wound in which I have no medical training in what so ever.

Review titled Unable to get an appointment
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2024
I have tried to ring up and get an appointment at the given time if 8 am. This has been over a period of four days. I still haven't succeeded. Even though I have had a pharmacist ring me and speak to me at length, with no feedback. On chasing it that person had gone home. I was then informed that there had been two doctors off sick. The receptionists are rude and argumentative. Today I have tried to ring 111 following on from my six weeks of illness which has carried on since being in hospital for two weeks. I was bounced back to 111, even though they had the report there from them advising me to speak to a GP within two hours. Otherwise I must ring back at 8 am in the morning. I am aware that I should not mention names in this review. However, I have also put requests online as requested, but still not got to even speak to any GP over the phone. I understand the system is broken, but this is just not acceptable. I am very concerned about the medication I have had put into my system over a period of six weeks and how it has mentally affected me. But no one cares to think that I be red or a GP to merely ask about my symptoms and reassurance as to why I am in the pain I am in. Example, is it the side effects of the medication I have been on? I am considering my next steps in order to get l help, but in this review , it states that I am unable to leave a review if I wish to make an official complaint. Catch 22 and going round in circles comes to mind.

I have been in contact with the surgery on and off for 6 months using both their online system and face to face with GP and nurse. Each time I have been responded to quickly and everyone has taken the time to listen and explain each step to me. I highly recommend this surgery they are fantastic.

Review titled Disgusted
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have a water infection that got worse and into my kidneys last Monday 18th, when I did call up the receptionist refuse to book me in appointment to see a doctor face to face, saying fully booked,so I had to stay at home for a day. On Tuesday I call again, the receptionist talk to me as if I was a lair or it's my fault, the sec I said"water infection" she sound like she was voiding of helping me at all. Even though the out hours doctor told me to do this in case the tables didn't work and not getting better before Monday 18th. Leaving me no option but to go back to A&E centre, I hate to think if someone else had a nasty infection that's even worse than mine and they call up for help, but to end up with nothing as well like they did to me. The attitude of this heath centre is sickening and disgusting, not helpful when it comes to more serious illnesses.

Dear Elizabeth Thank you for your feedback. Having listened to the call recordings I'm confused as to why you've left us such a review. There was no point where you were advised that we were fully booked but instead politely informed that an appointment wasn't required for this issue. Onwards from this we offered reassurance a number of times that our Nurse and Duty Dr had the matter in hand as per our protocol and that we would of course happily chase this for you. You then terminated the call. We're sorry you feel we weren't helping you; we can assure you that a resolution was imminent had you allowed us the opportunity. If you wish to discuss this further, please email the surgery at info.wordsleygreensurgery@nhs.net. Many thanks. Mrs L Somra Practice Manager

Review titled Prompt and helpful response
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Trevor Holden - Posted on 07 November 2023
I contacted a receptionist on Friday morning asking if I could be told the results of a blood test that was organised by my hospital. I was finding it impossible to get anyone at the hospital to tell me the result, that is why I rang the surgery. The receptionist at the surgery was very helpful and my request was passed to a doctor. Later that day I had a text message from the doctor and the text message told me the result of the blood test. Excellent service from everyone at the surgery. Thank You

Review titled Great practice

Last week I saw 2 very good GPs on 2 occasions who listened and acted in my interest trying to resolve a painful issue. Today I saw another Doctor who explained everything in detail and had read my notes before I had arrived..was excellent in his knowledge and manner. Also your receptionists are very good and so helpful with a caring attitude speaking to me about my test results . They also got me an appointment on 2 days last week and today I was willing to speak to a doctor on the phone but they made me a face to face appointment. I have been a patient here for 45 years and the level of service has been good but I would rate it very good now. Thank you to all the staff.

Review titled Awful. Go anywhere else but here.
Rated 1 star out of 5

I wish I'd left this practice sooner. You stop even bothering to ask for help because they make it so difficult to get any. It is a 5 week wait for 'routine' appointments (by phone!!) and if you can't get up and ring repeatedly at 8am (I have chronic fatigue), then that is all you can get. You rarely, if ever actually see the Dr, almost all their appointments are by phone. The receptionists are rude and unhelpful. Making you jump through hoops and not interested in helping, I can't even count the amount of times I was told 'you have to...' instead of even trying to help. I needed a letter for my blue badge, which was requested by the council, not me directly. They wrote it, then called me and said if I wanted it, I had to pay. Didn't even speak to me first. With them changing their repeat prescriptions to an app, I discovered my regular medication that I had been ordering for months through prescription direct, was not actually on repeat. I called them and was told I would have to wait 5 weeks to speak to a dr to get it put on repeat! It was only after I switched surgery that I realised I had just stopped seeking help when I really did need it. I would recommend any surgery but this if you actually want care.

Review titled Bad and getting worse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2022
Was instructed to make a "routine" appointment as it was "important" by the surgery. Currently a 6-8 week wait for an appointment shown on the message. This one was "only" a 4 week wait, but appt by telephone and got the usual refusal to provide a time, just morning/afternoon/evening. The best guess was a 2 hour window, but may be before... So without a time it's not an appointment and should not be included in the surgery's performance statistics. It seems that they have permanently removed online appointment booking, just to make it harder for patients. Still no local blood testing services. The service degraded during covid and is now getting worse with no sign of any attempt to resume pre-covid levels of service. The surgery's "reviews & feedback" page directs you here if your experience was "good", but to a page telling you they only accept complaints for 2 hours a day if your experience was "poor". Almost like they don't want negative feedback. When you get to see them, the nurses are brilliant. But the management of the practice and the overall service level provided is not.

Review titled Diabolical Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 November 2022
I have been trying to book an appointment for three days. Today I dialled the number over 80 times from when I started ringing just before 8am, only to get the busy tone. Just after 8.15am I was greeted by the answer service, signifying I assume, that there were no more appointments available. What do I do now? I am being forced into a position whereby the only option is to use the hospital to obtain treatment to avoid the existing problem becoming more serious. I can see that this surgery is taking on new patients, should this be allowed if demand for their service is already beyond what they can provide to existing patients.
