  1. Review titled Outstanding service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Have elderly parents with complex medical issues. An Econsult sent is always responded too within 1-2 hours - a Dr has come out to visit on several occasions during the last year or a photo(s) sent through with e-consult resulting in medication being prescribed and collected the same day. As I collect a lot of prescriptions on behalf of family I haven’t had to wait more than 15 mins each time this year. Yes queues were bad in past but management appear to have sorted the back room out. I’ve heard from colleagues of people calling their drs or sending an econsult for a sore throat. Honestly, the NHS is under severe pressure, go to the pharmacy firstly and ask for a pharmacist opinion. If they can’t assist they will send you either to A&E if they think it’s serious or back to drs. The drs triage patients through econsult like A&E so if they think it’s urgent you get responded too quicker I imagine than those with a runny nose. It’s not a perfect system but until a government has the back bone to charge (a deposit) for an appointment either at drs or hospital (if you turn up you get your deposit back. If you fail to attend you loose the deposit - then we just have to make the most of the system we have Eat healthily, don’t drink too much and stop smoking. That would free up thousands of appointments!

  2. Review titled Terrible service

You cannot talk to anyone any more its all econsult which is left for days without any answer or reply then you email to remind them and get put in another list for days. Terrible! Service, we are human and would be nice to talk to humans that can help. Things that should take a few days end up being weeks. Help us all when there new estate if full of new patience we wont stand a chance.

  6. Review titled Absolutely appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practise is to use a well used term,"not fit for purpose". Who ever is responsible for management ought to be sacked. It is literally impossible to get an appointment without going through e consult and then waiting for a doctor to phone you back. What a waste of time and money rather than a 10 minute appointment. They try to refer you to A and E or 111 or 999. Surely the Primary care trust should decide how appointments are made, not down to the surgery to decide how you can see a doctor. No if's or but's. Just look at the reviews over the last 6 months, plus peak to people at this surgery who do not leave reviews but complain bitterly about this place

I recently came in for a cervical screening. The nurse was unbelievably kind and reassuring, she made me feel so relaxed and like nothing was too much trouble.

  9. Review titled Poor Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

If I could give it zero I would. When i registered at the practice I had high hopes, it looked and felt like a good practice to be under. How wrong was I? The Pharmacy is diabolical, who runs that? Communications are poor with over an hour wait on the phone, when you do put notes on the prescriptions when doing the repeats they cant be bothered to read it. Which means yet another call, another wait for "The computer says no".. I swear that Little Britain Skit was based on the Health Center. I have read through other reviews going back over a year with others reporting similar experiences, seems all at Woolpit Health Center are not going to improve the service so I will be moving in the new year Very poor from the NHS, which is funded by us...

  10. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 October 2023

Elderly father in poor health with stage 4 kidney disease. GP had no hesitation in coming out to visit at home and followed up with regular calls until he was better. My son had a great service. Went to American college in August and was told with 2 days before that he needed a booster jab. The nurse/GP went out of their way to facilitate that he got the jab in time. I myself think the drs are first class. Yes I agree that waiting on the phone for what seems like hours can be frustrating but I think the e-consult works brilliantly. I have had a nasty accident which requires strong meds for pain relief. I post a request at 7am via an E-consult and generally within the hour I get a response and by lunchtime I have my medication. Yes I also agree that the pharmacy really needs an overhaul - I heard that there is a new manager in place who will hopefully simplify the system. What we must remember is that this is the busiest practice in Suffolk with well over 15,000 patients. The staff are wonderful (except for one receptionist who really needs to get help with her telephone manners). My advice is to use the e-consult method, it works, it’s quick and the drs can access much quicker who they need to see. The service is also much quicker than going to A&E for triage. I understand that pharmacies across the country will soon be able to prescribe certain medications - let’s use them for everyday questions or for the general prescribing less urgent care. This allows the drs to concentrate on the care of those patients that really need to see a dr. To finish off - rather than get stressed and frustrated whilst standing in the queue - I use that time to do my shopping list, place orders or catch up on my messages. Let’s just be kind. We are all trying our best
