  1. Review titled Friendly, understanding useful advice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Colin Blake - Posted on 02 October 2024

Referred to physiotherapist for assessment of tingly fingers and stiff neck. He was very friendly and very easy to talk to. Gave a very good assessment of problems and suggested various courses of treatment and exercise. At end of session I felt very confident that my concerns had been listened to and that suggested course of action would be very beneficial.

  2. Review titled Could it get any worse

Rated 1 star out of 5

There is a history of incompetence with this surgery but I will just describe today's events cause they are not a one off. Received a text to make an appointment to bloods. Phoned to make an appointment only to be on hold for over two hours. Once I was next in queue it rang for 10 minutes and it then disconnected. Phoned back only to now be 21 in queue. Since my first call I was 15th in the queue and that took over two hours, and surgery closed in 40 minutes, I decided to walk down to try to make an appointment. When I got there I was 19th in queue and receptionist was playing on her mobile. I explained the situation and receptionist said they were the only one there and that's why the phone queue was so long. Did not confront about being on person device cause I would not have been able to maintain my polite manner. I was given and appointment for a few weeks time but after 3 hours of my life wasted. Please avoid at all costs.

  3. Review titled Physiotherapist review

I was extremely stressed before attending my appointment. The Physiotherapist was so good and relieved my stress to a great extent. His calm way of explaining things and his exercise methods were very helpful. Thank you

  4. Review titled Good Luck Getting Through...

by Stephen - Posted on 19 September 2024

Here's the thing, the staff are nice. However, the way the service is managed is exceptionally poor. My partner and I spend literally hours on the phone trying to speak to someone, and no, that is not an exaggeration from an annoyed reviewer. No bias here, only facts. Sometimes you will get to the front of the phone queue, and then the phone will just ring until eventually the call ends. Then you need to call up again, only to be at the back of the queue, which is honestly crazy. Then you have to wait for another 1.5 - 2 hours. There is absolutely no way this experience is exclusive to us. Why they don't have the ability to request a service online is beyond me. I only call this surgery for my partner, but the surgery I'm with has an online service, which means my message is often seen and responded to on the same day. My time is respected by not having to wait in a queue for hours. Now bear in mind that my partner and I will call at the same time in an attempt to mitigate these issues, which we really should not have to do. This surgery is part of a group, so why do they not have an online service? It doesn't matter how nice the staff are, if you can almost never contact anyone. More recently, my partner was miraculously able to speak to someone. All she needed was a fit/sick note. She was asked to call back tomorrow. She still doesn't have a fit note, and it's been two days, because neither of us can get through! Truly, and objectively an awful service. I am in awe of the series of bad decisions which have led to a service of this calibre. I would be embarrassed if it was me.

  5. Review titled After test Results no Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 August 2024

I recently had a blood test and received a text message asking me to book an appointment. I've called many times, visited the surgery five times, and spent the last two hours on the phone trying to get through. When I first called, I was the 40th person in line, and after two hours of waiting, I was still only number 14. In desperation, I went to the surgery while still on the call, only to be told that all appointments for the next two months are fully booked. I was advised that it's pointless to keep coming in or calling. If the surgery is so overwhelmed, why are they continuing to register more patients? I know someone who lives four miles away in Downs Barn and has been assigned to White House Surgery. There are clearly some serious issues at this surgery that need to be addressed.

  6. Review titled Imposible to get an appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 August 2024

Hi, I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the service I received from your practice. This morning, I called the practice at 8am, as soon as the lines opened, in hopes of securing an appointment. Unfortunately, I was kept on hold for an astonishing 1 hour and 35 minutes before finally getting through to a receptionist. To my dismay, I was then informed that there were no appointments available for today. I understand that GP practices are often very busy and appointments can be limited. However, it is incredibly frustrating and concerning to spend such a significant amount of time on hold only to be told that no appointments are available. This not only wastes patients' time but also causes undue stress, especially for those who are unwell and in need of medical attention. If there is no capacity then don't take new patients. Please advice how this can be sorted.

This practice is very poor, do not use. I have been trying to call the surgery to book an appointment. It was impossible to get through to the reception, long wait on the telephone line. No one answered the call. I have been trying to get an appointment for two weeks. They never have appointment to see the GP.

  9. Review titled Disappointed with Staff behavior and booking system.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Hamid - Posted on 11 June 2024

Yesterday, I called Whitehouse Surgery, and my place in the queue was 13th. After a long hold, I went to the surgery reception in person, requesting an appointment for my Son. I was told we are fully booked today. Contact us tomorrow at 08:00 am, which makes sense. After yesterday's long hold on the phone, I went to reception in person at 08:00 am. They told me all appointments were already booked. I humbly said It is just 08:00 am. How can all slots be booked already? The other staff member I was not even talking to Jumped into the conversation. She said we told you to call us. I asked who would pick up the phone. The staff mentioned we would pick up the phone. I asked how it would matter if I came in person or called when I reached the same staff, and the answer was definitely the same: we are fully booked. The staff whom I was not talking to unhappily commented, "Take him to the walk-in centre" My question is, I was the first person at 08:00 a.m., and they told me we were fully booked. It means all the slots were booked in advance. If that was the case, why did they ask me to contact the Surgery the next day at 08:00 am when there was no appointment? Let me also mention that it is not the first time I have had an unpleasant experience. Previously, I booked the appointment for my son's figure dressing with the nurse and got a confirmation text message on the phone. When I went for an appointment, I was not able to check-in. I spoke to reception, who said your appointment is not in the system. I showed the confirmation text. She said I don't know, but I can schedule an appointment in 45 minutes. The appointment I was expecting, 10 minutes, took about an hour.
