I am on medication for life and in the last 3 years this has been renewed automatically after a 6 monthly review. The review has happened, no automatic renewal, so no prescription at boots. Phoned the surgery to ask why it hasnt been renewed and told I need to request it. But not over the phone. They need it on a physical piece of paper, but of course cant print this off themselves.I have to write my name , Date of Birth and the words please renew my medication on a piece of paper and physically put this in a repeat prescriptions box at the surgery. Appalling. How can this be modern efficient practice dealing with bits of paper and the patient having to physically attend? No audit trail in case the paper is lost. This is not an isolated incident. I understand the rules that this feedback so will simply say if evidence is required of poor working practices and patient disatisfaction look at the google reviews they receive. To be clear this is not a criticism of the Doctors themselves but the administrative side
