Review titled Incompetent and rude reception
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2024
A small handful of decent doctors held back by absolutely horrendous reception staff. They are routinely rude and condescending, with zero bedside manner or customer service skills. They don't appear to have knowledge of processes or procedures, frequently send the wrong documents or don't update them when asked, and the only thing they seem to be good at is making you feel bad for wanting a basic service. I have had one decent doctor who was understanding and helpful. The rest have been a mixed bag. My worst experience with a practitioner at this surgery was when they suggested I had "health anxiety" rather than trying to understand or address any of my health concerns. They were dismissive and (as seems to be the pattern with West Green Surgery) seemed to be only interested in dismissing me or making snap judgements and assumptions. Most recently, the receptionist became quickly frustrated with me for understanding a procedure. As you can imagine, this is detrimental to someone like me with mental health issues trying their best to get the correct help and care. Extremely disappointing and discouraging. Avoid this practice at all costs unless you enjoy being made to feel awful by staff who come across like they would rather be anywhere else, doing anything else than to help or listen.

Review titled Good medical care undermined by chaotic reception practices
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Good quality medical care undermined by chaotic administrative practices. The reception staff claim there is a queuing system but also allow people to push to the front, which is clearly not compatible with having a queueing system and undermines any sense of fairness and order from the outset. Clarification is required. Perhaps signs could be put up confirming that a queueing system is in operation.

Worst place they “Did Not Attend”everything when it relates to children under 1 who has had a fever throughout the night and we wanted to reschedule 2 hours before the appointment, they don’t care saying it’s company policy, the receptionists where rude and it is upsetting this practise is open with receptionist who have such rude behaviour below standard practise behaviour

Review titled Excellent GP
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Philip - Posted on 24 May 2023
On multiple occasions I've called West green surgery and they've sorted me out the same day. I called them earlier this month on a Sunday with a hearing issue, had a phone appointment by 4, face to face appointment at 5, prescription picked up same day. Would recommend to everyone in Haringay.

Review titled Dreadful practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

I've had a deeply disappointing experience with this GP practice. Their chronic lack of availability for appointments is a major issue that has caused me undue stress and frustration. On the rare occasions when I have been able to book an appointment, I have found the doctors to be rushed and inattentive to my concerns. This lack of focus is concerning, especially when dealing with serious health issues that require thorough examination and attention. Furthermore, the practice frequently assigns junior staff members who are not yet equipped to make independent medical decisions. While I appreciate the need to learn on the job, I have found this lack of expertise to be unsettling and has caused unnecessary delays in my treatment. Overall, I do not feel that this GP practice provides adequate care for their patients. The inability to schedule appointments combined with rushed, inattentive doctors and inexperienced junior staff members is a recipe for disaster. I urge the practice to address these issues, as they are directly impacting the quality of care they provide. Until then, I cannot recommend this practice as a reliable source of healthcare.

Really happy with the care offered. Great bunch of people from reception to doctors and nurses. I have only been offered good care. They listened, accommodated my request and tried their best with me. Thank you

Review titled Inhumane
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was refused access to briefly use toilet by the receptionist. I have severe IBS and as a result soiled myself. Fortunately a private dental clinic across the road medi park let me go. The toilets were empty and the surgery was not busy, i couldve walked in and used west green toilet without asking but I sought permission and waited till the receptionist finished with a patient. She explained to me they dont let non patients use the toilet even in emergencies. So why does a private dental clinic across the road let me use their busy toilet but not you? Its a disgrace that you have the NHS logo outside but wont let people use the toilet. If id gone to the dental clinic first I would not have had the accident but i assumed like most people would that a large nhs affiliated surgery would be more likely to let me use toilet. I was very polite, I even begged. I have never had this happen before at a medical establishment . Was She wrong? Is it that the policy? Why?

Review titled Outstanding service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was apprehensive in changing GPs as my last 3 experiences weren't the best. I had been trying to get HRT for the past 2 years and no GP would support me through menopause. I was desperate and didn't expect such a warm welcoming and understanding at all. From reception to each doctor supporting me in the past 6 months, I can't thank them enough from all my heart as they have been amazing and went above and beyond to support me. My health and quality of life improved so much. I truly feel cared for and that I matter. Thank you so much.
