Review titled Excellent patient care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mary Thomas - Posted on 11 July 2024
Across 7 years as a patient I have had excellent care from each GP and from the practice nurse. I have rarely asked for same day appointment but have got one when needed, 5 times this year, today included included. 13 th in queue today at 8.30 am I was offered a call back to schedule appointment if needed. Regardless of my particular health problem I receive timely escalation and onward referral, regular review if needed , all of which are invaluable when ill. Reception staff friendly under pressure and treat patients as individuals. I couldn't ask for more and I am very appreciative. Thank you

Review titled Fantastic responsive service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Booked in for a same-day appointment, seen within 2 hours of my call. The doctor was brilliant, listened to everything I had to say and put my mind at rest without dismissing my concerns. A bonus that there is a pharmacy on site, as I was able to get my prescription straight away.

Review titled Ridiculous booking system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Claire Jordan - Posted on 06 November 2023
Phoned at 4:50pm today to book an appointment for an evening whenever convenient. Firstly It rang out for over 3 minutes until someone answered. To be told I can’t book a late afternoon/evening appointment!!!! I will have to call back in the morning? I work 8am-4pm so need an evening appointment, it’s not convenient for me to call when at work, it’s why I called at the time I did. Why can evening appointments not be pre booked? Your not making yourselves accessible to be people, people who are vulnerable or unwell to be seen, made to feel heard or make feel better. Which I thought was the whole purpose of your job? No? Ridiculous service!!!

Review titled Booking lottery
Rated 2 stars out of 5

You have a better chance of winning the Lottery than getting an appointment to see a doctor at Tramways medical centre. My condition is getting worse, but it is impossible to get an appointment.

Review titled I was available for my appointment they were not
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tegan Woodhead - Posted on 07 February 2023
I booked a telephone appointment for half past 4 because that was when I was available-after I finished work. They rang me before half 4 when I was working and unable to answer then when I rang back at half 4 the recorded message said they were shut but the website says they're open until 6pm. If I wanted an appointment before half 4 I would have booked one for before half past 4! The NHS app now says that appointment is "finished" so who exactly did the doctor have the appointment with?! Can't get another appointment now until week after next and I'm hacked off because I was available when my appointment was but they weren't. If you're going to do this- put it in writing when you book the appointment.

Review titled Would not recommend
Rated 1 star out of 5

The manners of the receptionists are shocking. The other week I called up to book an appointment 2 weeks in advance, which I know I can do as I have done it before. The receptionist interrupted me twice, did not even let me finish my sentence to find out what I wanted. When I asked if I could finish my sentence first, she raised her voice and sounded annoyed. I work in customer service, so I can tell the difference between a problematic customer/patient and someone who just tries to get their point through. I was the second one. Then today morning I went in to book an appointment for my boyfriend who was on his way to work, tried to call them up but as soon as he dialled the line got cut off. When I went in and mentioned this to the receptionist, she said (without looking at me, she was typing on the computer) they don’t have time to answer the phone. This was at 8.35 in the morning, while they advise people to call up at 8.30 to book a same day appointment. Terrible service and even worse manners. When I said that it was urgent as my boyfriend needed a new asthma inhaler, she finally looked up from the computer and booked him in for an appointment. But my question is, if I didn’t work from home today and didn’t live 2 minutes from the practice what would have happened? They put somebody’s life at risk just because they don’t want to do the job they are paid for. I have been with this practice for one and a half year but I have never met a receptionist who was not rude and patronizing.
