Having realised I didn’t have enough medication for my imminent holiday (next day), the surgery dealt with my repeat request swiftly. The prescription was sent to my local pharmacy and collected within 8 hours.

I am a 70 year old asthmatic. I asked about how I go about getting my next COVID booster. A receptionist today told me that the surgery didn't have anything to do with that and she had no idea. They then went on to tell me that she would never have a COVID jab and didn't think that others should. I'm pretty sure that this is the opposite of what the NHS recommends and could be somewhat confusing for some elderly patients. Do the reception staff need additional training?

Thank you for your feedback. Following your message I have discussed this with the staff member involved. I`m sorry that you feel that she didn`t deal with your query to your satisfaction but it appears she did try to explain that the Covid vaccinations are available via 119 as NHS England prefer to use a centralised booking system, which has been in place now for several years. In respect of the personal comment whilst we prefer staff to not deal with hypothetical situations, she did explain that she answered your question "What would you do if it was your mum?" To which her reply was "My mum wouldn't have it but that's personal preference" and then directed you to 119. This will be discussed with all our reception team to ensure we give appropriate information. The current information for Covid Vaccinations for this autumn/ winter is that booking details will be available in September but the date is yet to be confirmed. I rang the surgery this morning. The receptionist was very friendly and added me to the triage list. The dr rang me back within ten mins and arranged a face to face appointment at 2pm. I received a friendly welcome from reception on arrival.The dr was really lovely and helpful.

Excellent ongoing engagement with the GP regarding diagnosis and follow up of his dementia diagnosis. GP demonstrated empathy and sensitivity which was greatly appreciated. Actioned referrals promptly

The surgery always respond to our family requirements either by appointment, call , patches and email. My recent requests for repeat prescriptions plus a one off asthma replacement have all been promptly dealt with from reception to pharmacist.
