While we strongly support NHS and Healthcare workers, the treatment we have received from this surgery is horrible. We try our best not to make appointment unless absolutely necessary but I was in pain for several weeks and when I was finally able to contact them, I was made to wait for another 3 weeks to get an appointment. As an adult, I was able to tolerate and self medicate. But then my child was in pain for 3 days, e-consult ws not working and it took hours to get through the phone, the receptionist was abrasive and we were made to wait all day for an appointment only for them to cancel last minute and we were told to try somewhere else. How is this acceptable?

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to write this review, you have highlighted a number very concerning issues. The service you are describing is certainly not the standard we would expect. I am unclear why you should have to wait 3 weeks for an appointment (even if you wish to see a specific clinician). All our GP appointments are 50% bookable on the day and 50% bookable up to 6 weeks in advance. The usual timeframe for booking in advance with a specific clinician is approximately 1 week, so I am very concerned that you have had to wait 3 weeks. I am not aware of any appointment cancelations recently, in particular for a child, so I would really like to know more about this incident. I am unsure what you are referring to with regards to e-consult as this is not a system that we use at the surgery. All in all, I am very concerned with the points you have raised so whilst I understand why you may want to post this as anonymous, could you please contact the surgery on: bcicb.summerhillsurgery@nhs.net I would like to contact you to discuss this matter further to understand why these issues have occurred and how we can prevent them in the future. Visited Physiotherapist regarding my knee pain. Extremely thorough examination done & exercises recommended explained in details & plan sent by e-mail. Follow up appointment was also made. In summary, an excellent assessment & thorough appointment.

I have been attending Summerhill surgery for many years now and always found the staff and Drs professional and caring This time I needed an ECG and was booked in the day after I had seen the Dr at this surgery The health professional was excellent explaining everything as she went about her work She was pleasant professional and made me feel very comfortable I would definitely recommend this practice

I called the surgery at 8:01 am and after waiting for 22 minutes on the phone they told me that there are no more appointments to see a doctor. I asked how many doctors there are and he told me only 1 and there are 5 patients waiting. I can't go to the hospital to sit for 5-6 hours since I work. They should have more doctors since there is no other better option

Thank you for your review, we welcome all feedback as this helps us see where we are doing well and where we can improve our services. I am sorry you could not get an appointment this morning, we do in fact have 2 GP's on today, I am not sure why you were given incorrect information. Unfortunately we have a GP on annual leave this week and another sick, so this is far less than our usual standard. It may be helpful for you to know that 50% of all our GP appointments are bookable up to 6 weeks in advance and 50% are bookable on the day. Please look at our website and if appropriate you could ask the GP / Nurse a question. This will not guarantee an appointment, but may allow us to divert you to a more appropriate appointment, other than the GP. Thank you Summerhill Surgery

Really can’t express how wonderful this surgery is especially Doctor Guest she has been amazing . All the staff are so very helpful and professional .

I switched to this surgery from one in Wordsley due to having lots of problems with them/the difficulty in even getting any care (or even a repeat prescription), and they have been unbelievable. They are extremely friendly and helpful, rather than making you jump through unnecessary hoops they actually help you and you can see a doctor when you need to, in person! Without long waits, feeling like a burden or feeling rushed. The receptionists are really welcoming and eager to help in any way they can. I am so happy I switched and would recommend them to literally anyone in the area. It's been a long time since I've experienced such amazing care in the NHS.
