  1. Review titled Unacceptable system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 January 2023

After being off sick with the flu for over 7 days I attempted to contact the surgery for a fit note. I rang at 8am, on hold for 30 minutes, finally got through to somebody to then be cut off. I rang again, to be in hold for a further 30 minutes to then be told there were no appointments left and to ring back Monday morning. I explained I was back to work Monday and couldn’t ring or call in. The receptionist wasn’t very helpful with her suggestions or alternatives and there was nothing more she could do. I will now have to take 2 days unpaid because I can’t get a fit note from the doctors covering the sickness period. Completely unacceptable.

  2. Review titled Awful practice, not sure it actually has any GP's

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is impossible to get a face to face appointment at this GP surgery. You have to start to ring at 8am listen to a 1 min recorded message before you can select options then to be told lines and busy call back! If you are one of the lucky ones who gets through on the phone after 60 attempts and holding for 30 minutes in a queue you end up with a GP phone call if you persist on getting one from a GP as you are always given the pharmacist first! They then almost let you self diagnose yourself perscribes you anitbiotics without physically checking you over. This has also been my experience for a child. No wonder so many health concerns and diagnosis of conditions come so late, as GP's assessments are non existent. I have had a few nurse appiontments these are bookable in advance and when I have gone into the surgery for them, there isn't a patient in sight so is there actually any GP's working here actually onsite?? If you cant get an appiontment you can use the out of hours service, which when you ring also says agents are busy try again! So you can try 111, waited for an hour on the phone then gave up. No wonder People then show up at A&E which puts mounted pressure on hospitals and impacts those who really need to be there.

  3. Review titled Appointment system terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 November 2022

The appointment system at the Practice is terrible - it is almost impossible to get to see a GP face to face. It is very difficult to get through on the telephone and when you finally do get through there are no appointments available. You just get directed to the out of hours service. It is not surprising that people are ending up going to A&E departments when they cannot get to see their own Doctor. You also cannot make an appointment online which other surgeries are offering. For such a large Practice with modern facilities it does not have an appointment system which is fit for purpose and meets the patient's needs.

  4. Review titled Exceptional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa Jolea Cane - Posted on 13 September 2022

A big thank you to the practice for arranging a GP telephone review with me regarding my elderly mother, who is currently receiving treatment. Reception and precription team have been amazing . Their manners are exceptional and very compassionate. I have observed the pressures within the practice during my visits. However, they continue to provide excellent patient services , despite limited workforce resources. The team are dedicated and committed to providing a high quality service.

  5. Review titled Great helpful practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Victoria ODonnell - Posted on 13 September 2022

I have had a very positive experience with the practice and to be honest, during the most difficult of times of late nationwide, I have always found the staff here extremely helpful & polite who will go all out to help resolve any issues with anything practice related. From reception to the Dr's themselves, I can honestly say this is a lovely family practice who will help you to the best they possibly can. Thank you. Victoria.

  6. Review titled Great practice. Internet contact terrible.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Christine Beaumont-Rydings. - Posted on 06 October 2022

Trying to get through to the surgery is extremely difficult especially if you can't get into it. Have had to spend time negotiating various sites to try to find where to leave a message. This has not been answered so no way of knowing it has been received. Trying to order a prescription has not been answered and pharmacist tells me their emails are not answered either so having to repeatedly phone them to see if any result for a prescription has come through. No. Today the online request has failed as this site refuses to accept my date of birth, which obviously I know! It refuses to accept my d/b instead using 09.10.1947. Submission refused. I suggest that the Govt. Internet staff review this site. A connect option just gives departments at the surgery. I am used to computer liaison but what about patients who are not and those who cannot get into the surgery? Also the time surgery Staff have to take to sort out these problems hinders other patient care. It must be stressful for Staff as well. In addition, the script has to be exactly what they demand refusing to use anything else. Grrrr. Overall poor internet service" resulting in lack of relevant communication. Please follow this up to help everyone, patients and staff alike. Thank you.
