Review titled Great asthma nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rachel J - Posted on 05 July 2023
Had a really helpful phone consultation with the asthma nurse earlier this week (annoyingly I can’t use her name in this review and am having to resubmit this without it). In January I was automatically switched to an inhaler I didn't get on with (NHS England cost saving drive, not a clinical decision). I persevered for 6 months but it didn't suit me at all. I mentioned in my asthma review form that I wanted to switch back to Fostair and a call with the asthma nurse was scheduled for me. Not only was the nurse receptive to switching back me back to Fostair, but she listened to what the issue was and suggested the Fostair dry powder inhaler that I think will work even better for me. Definitely an example of exceeding my expectations as I came away with even more than I'd hoped for. I wanted to review as I'm sure people are quick to complain when they're not happy, so I want to be quick to compliment when I am. Good asthma nurses are worth their weight in gold. Thank you.

Review titled Unable to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2023
Despite having an online website with the ability to book appointments GP appointments are not included. When using the online form to attempt to book a GP appointment I get a canned response asking me to call. When you call, you get told no appointments are available for that day. Okay? So can I book for tomorrow, or later in the week? Of course not. I get told to call back at 8am the following day where I can fight through the hoards of other people all given the same advise. They have an online booking system. They have appointments every day. Just let people use the online booking system. I literally am in the process of swapping GPs due to this embrassment after being registered here for >25 years. It is unacceptable to me that you can not get an appointment unless you can at 8am. If you work the nightshift, or are already working at 8am you're literally unable to use this GP. It's a disgrace that they have a functioning online booking system and yet do not allow appointment bookings - but anything that's paid for (blood samples, physiotherapy) has >40 appointment slots available instantly. I would have happily paid for GP appointments too, but that's not even an option. To finish this I would say I have not once met my registered GP in >25 years, I am always given whomever is available (which begs the question why have a registered GP?) and they send me a text message survery asking for my ethnicity for their records. If they do not know my ethnicity after >25 years I do question what they are doing. I also add their website does not reflect their bank holiday opening hours, and in general is not kept up-to-date.

Review titled A Surgery That Cares
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by M.A.T - Posted on 18 April 2023
I have received good care from the surgery. A medical result of mine was of mild concern. A GP kindly let me know her plan of action, then, the result of this action. I feel very fortunate to be on the receiving end of this wonderful care with an organised and professional GP. Thank you.
