  1. Review titled Disgusting Service - I'm very Disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

Following discharge after an emergency hospital admission and advised by hospital to see GP, I phoned the surgery. Unfortunately, I cannot have an appointment because the surgery as not yet received any communication from the hospital. I'm struggling and have been unable to see a GP for over 5 years with only one phone call during that time.

Contacted them regarding my sons symptoms after he was sent home from school. Was told I'd receive a call back.. well its been 9hrs and now they are shut. Fortunately my son has not deteriorated and I haven't had to rush off to hospital after being shunned all day. I don't recommend the place. The other reviews are bang on.. receptionists think they are doctors now, I shouldn't at any point have to discuss any issue with them, they are there to answer phones and make appointments and they cannot even do that!!

  3. Review titled Face to face? Sometime, never!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Tried to make an appointment. The problem is not something that can be dealt with over the phone, symptons need to be seen rather than described. Was given a phone call with a doctor in four weeks time. This was after having to detail the problem, symptons and all, to a receptionist in a busy reception area. Two issues arise here 1) How medically qualified is the receptionist? It appeared as though she was making judgements on the medical need of the patient. Is she qualified to do this? 2) What about confidentiality? Surely it is not acceptable to expect patients to describe in some detail their medical problems when there are other members of the public standing a yard or so behind them. Even the local pharmacy has a private area for face to face discussions about a customer's need. Why is it impossible to make an appointment to see a medically qualified practioner within a reasonable period of time. And, please, don't advise patients to try nhs111; all that happens is that you are on hold for what seems like all eternity and then you have to describe the problem to ...? A medically qualified person? Almost certainly not. The remaining alternatives are to continue to suffer until such time as the phone call with the GP might possibly lead to a face to face appointment or go to a&e. But we are constantly asked by governments and health bodies not to use a&e for anything other than a genuine emergency, not "routine" matters that should be dealt with at GP level. Difficult to avoid the conclusion that the patient is in a no win situation here! I have never known things to be this bad in over six decades living in Colne, going back to when the surgery was situated at the lower end of Albert Road, near The Crown. I fully accept that responsibility for the present state of affairs is by no means to be laid at the door of the staff of Pendle Medical Partnership - but when you want to see a doctor one tends not to think too deeply about who is to blame for the fact that you can't see a doctor, one simply gets angry and upset!

  4. Review titled Worst Practice I’ve Ever Been With

Rated 1 star out of 5

Worse doctors I’ve ever been registered with. Never any appointments left and still don’t see patients face to face regularly when all other practices do. Had an appointment booked for over 3 weeks and they’ve just sent a text to cancel it. What a joke this place is. Will be registering with another practice

  5. Review titled Poor NHS service

this isn't the first time this issue has arisen with this practice. my mother has tried to book an appointment only to be told "you must phone after 8.00am for an appointment". she has then tried to phone 7 or 8 times for the line to be constantly engaged. eventually speaking to a receptionist some 40/45minutes after the first call and be told there are "no appointments left try again tomorrow" ! what are patients expected to do? phone for an ambulance or go and sit in A&E ? are people not allowed to be ill in Colne ?
