Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thank you, I've always got help and advice, when helping an elderly parent. The surgery has always managed to fit them in for appointments, or given advise over the phone. Thank you

  3. Review titled Very helpful and informative

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a telephone consultation with the clinical pharmacist regarding a recent blood test, some new medication and an overall review of my current treatment plan. I found him to be clear, helpful and considerate throughout and gave me a simple explanation as to what the issues are and how best we address them. Throughout the consultation he sought my consent, concordance and checked my understanding periodically which made for a very reassuring appointment.

  4. Review titled Awful service - always dread ringing

Rated 1 star out of 5

I always dread when I have to ring this surgery, which I have never experienced before with any GP surgery. The reception staff are incredibly rude and dismissive and have very few people skills. The processes are also completely unrealistic for working professional parents with busy jobs and lives - giving a very small window of the day to call is just not feasible for everyone. The GPs seem ok but it's a mixed bag - I spoke to one GP when I had worrying symptoms a few months after giving birth. I was told they wouldn't see me until the symptoms had been ongoing for 6 months. Spoke to 111 and they were very shocked and said I should be seen within three days. I really don't trust the surgery and unfortunately think it's symptomatic of the fact the NHS is failing.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns, it is always difficult to investigate anonymous issues. 5. Review titled Rude, unhelpful staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2023

Not the place for working adults that haven’t got hours to wait on the phone or in blood clinics. I cannot fault the doctors and nurses of this surgery. Unfortunately it’s near impossible to see any of them. The telephone booking system is a joke, and completely unfit for purpose. There’s always 30+ people in the queue at 8am. Ring at 10 and all emergency appointments have gone. Record management is poor, had staff phone me with incorrect information. Incorrect information put on med files. Referrals sent incorrectly or with incorrect or no information attached! Receptionist staff are loud, rude and unhelpful. Yet to meet one who looks like they enjoy their job or speaking to people. Most recent experience, I was left waiting on the phone whilst they discussed their shifts for the week and how delicious certain foods are, for them to come back and claim they were “consulting with their supervisor”. People ring the gp for help. Often worried or upset, and frustrated having waited for so long to get through. It would not go amiss if the person answering the call could be kind and not rude and abrupt, like it is a huge inconvenience to be calling in the first place. Repeat meds get missed, despite them being the same for years, things don’t get ordered, getting bloods taken is literally months of waiting for an appointment or jog along and wait for 3 hours at the nearest blood clinic. Disabilities completely ignored. Elderly patients treated with a complete lack of respect for not adapting to mobile apps and hours of waiting on the phone, then chastised when they come into the surgery with queries. Must be someone complaining their prescription never got sent through to the pharmacy every time I’ve been in. Poor and getting worse. Removed ability to book general appointments online during covid, keep taking on more patients, claim they’re booked up and then you turn up and there’s no one there. Would not recommend at all, and it’s a shame because every dr/nurse I’ve seen has been brilliant, and the pharmacy staff are fantastic always really helpful. It’s a real shame the receptionist staff and general organisation bring the place down.

Thank you for raising your concerns, it is extremely concerning to receive these issues. It would be extremely helpful if you could contact the practice and discuss the matter in more detail please ask for the reception manager. The practice has the ability to listen back to telephone calls which would allow us to provide education and training to enhance customer service and improve care for other patients. It is difficult to address the issues you have raised without dates and times and understand the circumstances behind any decision making. The practice has a significant number of on the day appointments with routine appointments being released on a regular basis. Patients are also able to book on-line appointments with members of the clinical team. We look forward to hearing from you to explore your concerns further. The Park Medical Practice
