  1. Review titled Moorcroft using Patches as a crutch!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2023

Whilst the Patches website states this is an ‘alternative’ method to the usual telephone call when booking appointment to see my GP. Dear receptionists are stating Patches is the only option to book an appointment. Which is it huh?!

We are sorry that you are unhappy with our PATCHS service which offers an alternative to waiting in a phone queue to speak to a receptionist. We would be grateful if you could contact the surgery and speak to our duty manager so that we can discuss your needs with you and determine what aspect of PATCHS is not working for you.

Thank you for your comments and our apologies that you have been inconvenienced. PATCHS offers an alternative way to contact the practice and not have to always ring the practice. It is not an automatic booking system. If you need to see a GP urgently and have not been successful in placing your request on PATCHS, please always ring the surgery and we will assess your request for you.

  4. Review titled Patches is not working

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Sharon Holford - Posted on 05 May 2023

I think the patches system penalises working people. I needed an appointment to discuss a medical problem but as I work I am unable to fill the patches online form in as I am driving to work at that time. I did manage to get on the system one day and they sent a text message to book a future appointment, however all the appointments were morning appointments so as I work 9am till 2.30pm I had to book an annual leave just to go to the doctor’s. It’s ridiculous when the practice is open till 6pm but you are unable to speak to anyone. Now the returned text message booking is now only going to be available for one hour I have no chance as I am unable to have my phone on me while at work so will only be able to get an appointment while on annual leave or off sick from work. This service is unacceptable.

  5. Review titled Terrible what a waste of time this new system is

Rated 1 star out of 5

Worst doctors ive ever been stuck with and this new patches system is a complete waste if time it's only ok if you can use it at 8am ,pointless as with my job I'm unable to use ky phone till after 10am and by then it's too late it's full and the options to contact the surgery like you used to be able to with the online consult isn't available , this doctorsnis only any use the those that do not work or are retired ,those who work are penalised , utterly terrible and the staff on the phone don't listen they just want to get rid of you ,it took me over half an hour to talk to someone as they had sent me a text appointment I could not make and needed to rearrange, why I could have relied tk the text message I don't know it would have been so much easier..... .worst doctors practice niven ever had the misfortune to have to use, god help me if I'm ill

  6. Review titled Terrible

My 2 year old son is a 'happy wheezer' more than likely asthmatic once he's old enough to get diagnosed. Trying to get an appointment at this practice is almost impossible. I rang at 7.59 am and got through straight away. However I've currently been on hold for 32 minutes. Normally it's over 200+ calls so when I got through this morning I expected to be answered rather soon. This past year I don't think we've visited the practice and seen the same person twice. It's absolutely disgusting service. Maybe if you actually saw patients rather than giving them a useless call back. Honestly so angry. I think change in Dr's is in order for my whole family. Such a shame as when we first came to you 13 years ago you were fantastic.

  7. Review titled Really unhelpful

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I am asthmatic, and have recently been feeling really unwell, i was sent a text message stating that I would get a call today but when I called the surgery they said to me I will get a all on the 14th but none of this was mentioned on the text, this is really embarrassing maybe the surgery should work on their communicational skills, they clearly don’t care about their patients

  8. Review titled Absolute joke

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Tried ringing the doctors for someone to see my 3 week old child, I'm not exaggerating when I say I tried ring 200 times just to join a que. Once I finally got through after half an hour, I was told there is no appointments available as they were at capacity considering how old my child is. Was told to either take my child up to a&e to be seen, which this puts a strain on the hospital that's unnecessary when my child could of been by someone in the practice! There should be a separate line for parents to ring for their children so then they aren't made to feel neglected in their care.
