Review titled Awful service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mr I Earl - Posted on 24 October 2024
For some inexplicable reason this surgery will only issue a repeat prescription for one month and has now refused to accept telephone requests to issue it. I have been informed that i nedd to attend the surgery to obtain the repeat prescription. Excellent if you are elderly and unable to get about easily.

Review titled Terrible telephone appointments person
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 October 2024
I asked to change a telephone consultation that sent to me by text. To later in the day as I would be at work in the morning. I was told I wold have to wait at least another week. The person on the other end was uninterested in my reason for requesting a later call by half an hour. I suggest they find another job where they do not have to engage with the public. Absolutely disgusting service by Marine surgery staff member. Such a shame she let the whole of the team down with her uncaring attitude..

Review titled Terrible service Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Michael Dando - Posted on 05 July 2024
I previously had a doctor call me and asked me in two weeks to arrange a call back and discuss the medication I am currently on, I rang today at 8.30 am an the previous call ive had from this doctor was at 8.30 am! I add this in as I was told by receptionist the doctors do not call until 9am! So already a lie!. I arranged a call back appointment this morning 05/07/2024 at 8.30 am, she asked me for a suitable time which was 12.30 – 13.30 as I am in a controlled environment for work and I cannot access my phone. I missed a call from the doctor at 13.30 which means I cannot answer. I asked my partner to call on my behalf and the advice she was given was to tell me to call the original consultant myself to discuss the medication and that I will have to call back on Monday morning and arrange a call back again! So what is it?? Do I call the consultant or do I call back Monday, on top of this she was told docs will not call until 9 am! The receptionist in question was rude and thats not the first one ive come across. There was no notes left on the call i made at 8.30am, giving the doctor an idea of the situation i described or even the time i gave. Worst decision to move to this surgery, no wonder the first review is 1 star! I will be taking this higher as well, and be reporting this terrible service and mis advice to whomever deems necessary. I will be also calling in to express my dissatisfaction. Regards Michael

On new medication plus ongoing medication. Submitted repeat prescription request and went to collect after the 72 hours as stated by surgery. Had not been done! Had to go into surgery and request again. Told to return after 4.00 Queue out of door at pharmacy due to surgery not completing prescription requests. Waited another hour to be told that the medication is not available. Not sure why I bother.

Review titled Excellent service and care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah - Posted on 10 May 2024
I visited the Marine Surgery today, I initially called at 9am this morning, had a telephone consultation by 11am and an appt for 3pm same day, I was seen by a lovely Paramedic that is working in the surgery today, who was very thorough and professional, then the doctor followed and was again very thorough, professional and explained everything and a plan for me to feel better. Both were extremely kind. Very happy with service received and feel pleased to be in more than capable hands. Thank you !

Review titled Receptionist enjoys being unhelpful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 December 2023
I popped in today to Chase up a prescription for my wife who has been very unwell over the 8 weeks or so. She had spoken to someone there who said it would be ready at the chemists next door after 4.30pm. When it was not there I asked the lady on the reception desk, where it was. She had a look and said nothing was requested, which I knew was untrue, so I asked her to look again and guess what she said, ah yes it's here but we need a full list of meds and a discharge letter. I asked how long once they have the details will it take? She said we don't arrange prescriptions . What! I said ok, so how long will it take. I don't know she said. I said is it days, weeks or months? I don't know she said again, we don't do them. I was really confused as you have done this many times before. I then asked her where do they go then? She said we do them here. What!! I said, you just said you don't do them here. She reply, well I don't do them, the Drs do. - I know that the receptionist aren't Drs, what I don't understand is why did she need to be so obstructive and awkward, when she knew exactly what I was asking. Do they know they are playing with peoples lives when they pay their silly games. They need to take their job seriously otherwise they should leave. All I need to know is if a transferred prescription can be sorted in under 1 week. Why is that so hard to answer. I am blown away that anyone can chose do that job and be so intentionally rude and obstructive. Why?

Three appointments cancelled. All the day before and every time marked as..did not attend.. dna.. These were for Blood tests requested by the Dr..then offered more appointments weeks in advance. What a shame. Can't they refer a patient to the Hospital which is more reliable

Review titled Gone downhill.
Rated 1 star out of 5

This used to be a very good practice, but no longer. Doctors used to listen to you, but that too is a thing of the past. After years of being with them, I am now making arrangements to move to another surgery. Trust is a very important part of doctor/patient relationship, and, I for one, no longer trust them at Marine. It is one particular doctor who is the problem. Obviously that one thinks the saying "the doctors always right" is gospel. My advice if you are planing on joining this surgery, is don't.
