  1. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Over many years I have found all the doctors helpful and caring and sent me for tests when required.I am under a oncologist at city hospital I have a daytime nurse and 24 hour helpline and and manor surgery to back me up I could not wish for better treatment. I believe in the NHS in Nottingham some of my friends in other counties are not so lucky with doctors appointments as I am. I am very grateful for the care and attention I have received Three cheers for NHS

  2. Review titled A truly outstanding practice - the epitome of excellence

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Malcolm Mortimer - Posted on 02 December 2022

Having called Manor Surgery to speak to a doctor about a concerning, cyst-like facial pimple soon after 8am today, I was called back within 90 minutes. Aware of their brilliant triage system, I had a photo prepared but was amazed to be asked if I could drop by 'now'. I was seen immediately and, within minutes, Dr Mannion had completely put my mind to rest. This was no 'one-off' - it simply echoed several recent outstanding patient experiences I and my family have had with other doctors in this exemplary practice. Most people are inevitably apprehensive at needing to see a GP, but they shouldn't be here; the atmosphere is so welcoming, caring and supremely professional that reassurance or necessary action is as instant as it could possibly be. I always try not to burden my GPs with trivia but sometimes there's simply no substitute for being checked out by an expert, especially in circumstances (like today) when I'm genuinely unsure of what is or isn't 'trivial'. I've never been made to feel guilty or a time-waster here, and nothing seems too much trouble. It may seem ridiculous to think that someone might actually enjoy a visit to their GP practice, but at Manor Surgery it's almost true! In a nutshell, their patient care and consideration is truly exemplary. I thought it was 30 years ago, but it just seems to keep on getting better and better. My family is so fortunate to be able to call upon these brilliant professionals and to know that - whatever the outcomes - we are totally confident of being in the safest and most caring and conscientious of hands. Thank you all so much for today's and so many other personal instances of both medical and human excellence!

  3. Review titled Exemplary practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gill Goodchild - Posted on 22 December 2022

I have been a patient at this practice for many years and have always found it good. However my experience over the past year and a half in particular has been exceptional. I was quite ill in February 2021 and admitted to hospital with an autoimmune condition. My care by the practice since my discharge a month later has, I think, been exceptional. The pleasant and courteous reception staff, the management of the vaccination and flu clinics (with minimal queuing and a welcoming atmosphere) and the professional care of the nurses and doctors have contributed greatly to my continuing progress. I’ve had a range of issues to contend with in the last year and never have I been made to feel I am 'a bother' and I have always had a phone consultation or in-person visit within a very acceptable timescale. Professionalism and kindness seem to be their passwords. I would thoroughly recommend the practice to others.

  5. Review titled Bad Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been unwell for the past 3 weeks and I have to the hospital more than 6 times - However, the GP have not been able to provide drug prescription or review the past medical documents that I submitted for over a week. They also said I would be likely scheduled for a blood test but no communication has been made to me

  7. Review titled Outstanding practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Laurence Coppel DL - Posted on 18 October 2022

Since moving to Manor earlier this year, we have been delighted with their services. The receptionists respond in a positive and helpful way, and the medical advise received has been offered by Doctors or nurse practitioners who listen and have adequate time. The NHS can be proud if the standards that they set

  8. Review titled Trying to get appointment

    by irregularitykd59 - Posted on 26 September 2022

I booked an initial appointment in March to talk to a doctor about contraception. This happened over the phone and I was asked to call them back once I had made a decision on what to do next. I tried to call them back but the member of staff said it wasn't an emergency and told me to call back at 8am to book an appointment and I have been struggling to get through. I got through this week and the staff member told me that there was no one available to speak to me for more than a week. They said that they did not know when the nurse would call me but it might be before 2pm. I’m feeling very frustrated by the attitude of the surgery and how hard it seems to get an appointment.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear that you had difficulty booking an appointment at the surgery. The majority of contraception queries are dealt with by our practice nurses and therefore their appointment availability will differ from that of our GPs. If you would like to email the practice at nnicb-nn.manorsurgeryreceptionist@nhs.net we would be happy to look into your personal experience in more detail. Kind regards Laura Millington Deputy Practice Manager
