  3. Review titled Usually end up in tears when trying to deal with this practice

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 September 2024

I very rarely contact the surgery as I have found the process so distressing. However I kept getting reminders about booking an appointment for a smear test. Online it was not possible as only a couple of times were offered when I would be at work, I tried the messaging service and each time it said they had reached their quota for that day. I tried phoning and was told there was a 30 min wait to be answered, I requested call back when prompted, but no call ever came. I had received a rather terse text message saying if I didn't mae this appointment it would count as a refusal!! When I had tried earlier on to book an appoontment they did not have any, and would not book any, more than a month in advance, so not sure what I was supposed to do. Eventually got to my computer by 6.00 a.m sent a message saying what had happened to the admin staff. Got a message back saying that someone would phone me to make an appointment. That was a few days ago and no-one has!! It is only a non-urgent appointment for a routine test. Not sure exactly what I am supposed to do. Absolutely appalling service and very upsetting to boot.

  6. Review titled Helpful, efficient practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Bev Devaux - Posted on 16 July 2024

I asked for an appointment for pins and needles in my arms. I was seen in good time and my doctor discussed my medical issues thoroughly and organized blood tests for me. When these we available I saw him again and was given a comprehensive explanation of the results, encouraged to persist with my healthy regime and start taking iron tablets to enhance my levels. As the blood tests didn’t reveal any obvious reason for my condition, he organized a scan of my neck area.

  7. Review titled Communication hell - Groundhog Day

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 July 2024

Phoned call centre to book appointment with nurse to discuss results of blood test as several results were ‘out of range’ and I wanted them explained. Call 1 - told capacity reached call back next day. Call 2 (next day), told capacity reached call back next day. Call 3, the next day - capacity reached but will add to cancellation list but if not called by 5pm - Call back next day. How long could this ridiculous scenario go on for? Why can’t my request be held on file and dealt with in sequence? It is like ground hog day. On every failed attempt I received a text message saying‘capacity reached - if emergency go to A&E, call 111 or call an ambulance. Finally got to speak with GP on day 4 - after threatening to call ICB - he was amazing! Explained everything, sorted immediate medication and agreed to review in 6 weeks. It’s not the GP’s that fail patients. It’s the various hoops you have to jump through just to be seen or heard. The staff at the call centre just do not want to know. The practice staff (non clinical) are totally out of touch with patients and feel any criticism or frustration is a personal attack on them. We get told staff resigned because of the merger, but it feels far more toxic in the administration functions and patients are seen as an interruption of their working day. And the call centre obviously handles too many calls for other surgeries. Mine was answered “Hello, Belgravia Surgery” …. Not Hill Surgery

  9. Review titled Locum doctor refuses to look

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 July 2024

Finally managed to get appointment at Hill Surgery. I saw a regular locum doctor, I got this appointment due to sore roof of mouth on one side, side of face and ear pain on this side. This man did not want to here or look. He weighed me took my BP told me he was stopping some of my tablets for my joints and rub for my pain. I said I come about my mouth he said mouth problems means your deficient in vit B iron and folic. I explained I eat a good diet I take a multivit daily. He refused to look . Gave me a blood form told me to get bloods done and rebook when results are in. I said I am in pain did not want to hear it. To arrogant to take a look. I tried to book bloods in surgery a month wait .Three weeks wait at conquest. Finally got bloods done at bexhill still had to wait 2 weeks. Well bloods are back no deficiency still in pain with mouth side of face and ear. Rung surgery told I very sorry you experienced this no appointments please try again tomorrow. Was also told we don't make appointments to discuss blood results. Beaconsfield was a good surgery this merger is awful you don't see our doctors. You get told they are doing other things.

  10. Review titled What should I have done ?

by Russell - Posted on 21 July 2024

On Wednesday the 17th I arrived seven minutes before my appointment to have my ears syringed by a nurse (I've been told not to arrive too early because of the continuing risk posed by Covid). I failed three times to 'check in' with the touch screen, it wouldn't recognise me so I joined to queue at Reception. There were five people working at screens in reception only one of whom was dealing with patients ( I don't doubt that they were all working). I waited in the queue for 20 minutes. I didn't feel that I could butt in on the conversation the patient in front of me was having with the receptionist. When it was my turn the receptionist told me I was late and had missed my appointment, that the nurse had other patients and would not see me. She said that she had come into the waiting room and asked for me. I wasn't in the waiting room I was at the Reception and it might have occurred to her that as I was there because I was deaf so I might not be able to hear her. This was already the second time that I had come in to have mt ears syringed. I had to make a thire appointment which I will not be able to attend because I am not able to take another hour and a half away from work for the same reason, that I'm having my ears syringed, for the third time in two weeks. What should I have done ?
