Review titled Flu clinic

To leave elderly people standing in a queue outside for an hour is an absolute disgrace. Appointments are given to the nearest minute (1022 in my case) so they should be more staggered. Fortunately it wasn't raining or particularly cold. Note - the same thing happened last year.

Dear patient, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Unfortunately we had an incident on Saturday the 12th that meant one vaccinator was unable to vaccinate for a period, causing queues longer then we would like. Having looked at the 3 appointments booked at 10.22 I can see one patient was seen 15 minutes early and two were 40 minutes late, for which we apologise. Kind regards, Jo, The Hadleigh Practice

Review titled Flu Jab Queue

Very disappointed at the long queue for a flu jab on Saturday, people were queuing outside for over half an hour and it did rain and some people had mobility problems. Too many people invited at one time.

Dear, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Unfortunately we had an incident that meant one of vaccinators were not able to vaccinate for a short time, meaning the queue built up longer then we would have liked. When we ran it the week before we invited the same amount of patients in the same demographic and it worked very well. Kind regards, Jo, The Hadleigh Practice

Review titled Happy staff
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Had 8.55 appointment for our annual flu jab. Arrived and joined queue outside the surgery, slowly moving forward but it was good natured queuing (we Brits are experts!). Once we got inside, found the volunteers really cheerful and helpful and the "conveyor belt" of patients ran smoothly, though apparently there was a glitch on the computer system that made the recording of details slow but nothing major. There was an elderly couple who had mobility problems and they were accommodated by the volunteers by seating and everyone helped them to be seen quickly. The actual injection was done by nurse for my wife whilst I saw a doctor (unusual to be able to see any Dr in any practice these days, some might say!) and my records checked re medication and pulse taken. I was given the feedback invitation by a volunteer on the way out. All in all it was not an unpleasant episode and it was nice to chat to people (both fellow patients and volunteers & practice staff). There was no murmurings of discontent at all, the only comment not in the positive would be that if the weather had been bad (rain or cold), the queue my not have been so affable but even in a larger building (eg the local school), there was still queuing beginning outside. The volunteer controlling the flow prior to the jab did say that the "appointment slot" given to each patient was included in a block so it was designed to avoid everyone arriving en block. With the numbers of the elderly contacted (the area has a high percentage) it was extremely well thought out and organised and we were both impressed.

Dear Michael, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. You are right with appointment times, we book so that there isn't too many patients in the queue, so if people keep to this time the queue shouldn't be too bad. Unfortunately on the 12th we had an incident that meant one vaccinator couldn't vaccinate for a time making the queue longer then we would like. I am glad you found us cheerful and helpful. Kind regards, Jo, The Hadleigh Practice

Just one review ref flu clinic Sat 12 Oct. I think flu clinics were more smooth running when they were held at corfe Mullen school. I was in a queue today which I really didnt mind and quite able to do. However I really felt for the very elderly and disabled patients waiting in the long queue which went into the car park as they were all waiting too for over half an hour and some were quite wobbly. The car park was full and people couldnt park as busy Saturday morn with normal shoppers etc. My main concern was seeing a lot of elderly walking around the car park to get back to their cars etc and although most drivers are considerate, there could have been an accident if a driver was going too fast or possibly not see an elderly person come into their path. I do think the school would have been better for the clinic and also more staff to prevent the 30 to 40 minute wait for the elderly. Many waited on the queue if they didnt have a loved one with them. Those that were quite elderly and disabled myself and another person told them to go inside and sit down and their loved ones stayed in queue . Luckily it wasnt raining or they would have got wet and cold.

Dear patient, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We had an incident which took one of the vaccinators out of being able to vaccinate and the queue built up longer then we would have liked. Unfortunately using the school is not an option for us hence why we are doing it back in practice. Kind regards, Jo, The Hadleigh Practice

Review titled Well organised

Although, as in all previous visits for the Flu vaccine, there was the inevitable longish queue outside, it was dealt with in an acceptable timescale and, once in the surgery, everything was very well organized and efficient.
