    I was delayed by traffic so I called The Grange Surgery to say that I would be a few minutes late for my appointment but I was placed in an automated queue and arrived at the surgery before I could get through on the telephone. I was 8 minutes late entering the Reception area and had to queue at Reception for 3 minutes so it was 11 minutes before I was booked in by the Receptionist. The Receptionist then said that I was Did Not Attend and would have to book another appointment!!!!!!!! I asked the Receptionist for the definition of Did Not Attend and was told that it was being 10 minutes late so I politely explained the situation & timing to her and asked her to agree that I was not a Did Not Attend but she simply refused. I politely asked to speak to her line manager about the Did Not Attend issue and was told that they were "unavailable" and when I asked why they were not available I was told "in a meeting" so when I asked how long before the meeting ended I was told "dunno"! I left the surgery in disgust at the way that I was treated when the main issue was not be being late but how the booking in procedure was so inefficient and very 'user unfriendly'. I think the medical staff are excellent but the administrative procedure and Reception staff are definitely not so, if possible, I recommend that you register with a different surgery.   2. Review titled Great GPs, pleseant reception staff, terrible booking system

    Good quality of GPs at this practice. However the booking system doesn't work. For anyone that has a job and can't be on the phone in a queue for ages from 8am you are effectively denied care. I would have to take time off work just to stay on the phone to get an appointment which in my profession is not possible.

    It is almost impossible to get an appointment! You have to phone at 8.0 or 14.00. when you call at these precise times it comes back and says the queue is full call back tomorrow. I have been trying for several days now! When you call the reception outside of these hours they tell you all the appointments have gone and call back at the above times. These Doctors are failing their patients and ultimately putting peoples lives at risk! They should be shut down and they have the gall to advertise for new patients when they do not see the patients they have. This needs to be looked at!

    All appointments gone typically within 2mins of lines opening every day. Unqualified reception staff have power to assess whether a problem "sounds serious enough for an appointment" and most often deny access to services. Rude and unhelpful reception staff.
