Review titled Difficult to see same Doctor...

I have complex issues and I wanted to see the same Doctor so I don't have to keep explaining things over and over as I'm tired of doing this, when I try to see the same Doctor it seems impossible to do so, so I just give up and don't bother as I keep going around in circles, it's beyond frustrating, I'm trying to do my best to manage everything, then It all gets messed up because the new Doctor I'm trying to explain stuff to doesn't get it, so I end up just living with discomfort and not talking to anyone, if I do talk I just get sent for the same tests and the same procedures, I'm not qualified to manage my symptoms on my own, so I just give up contacting the surgery. All I want to do is stick with the same Doctor instead of being treated like it's a new symptom when it isn't.

I saw a Nurse Associate today as I had a smear test. I have never ever met anyone like her! She greeted me with a smile as soon as I opened the door. You don’t find this often unfortunately, especially when us/women going for these kinds of examinations that are uncomfortable and last thing we need is that someone is there who doesn’t care about their job and us/people. But she made me so comfortable, relaxed and I knew I can trust her and that she will be kind and gentle. She took her time to ask me questions and at the same time providing me with advices and I could see that she is knowledgeable in her field and happy to explain everything to me. Before the actual examination, she talked me through everything in details what she will do and was so understanding and caring. And everything went smoothly without any issues. No any discomfort, no pain, nothing. She deserves to receive a special thanks from me and from her own line managers too as we need more people/nurses like her! Thank you for being loveliest and warmest nurse I have ever met in life!

Myself, my husband and my baby have each received an excellent quality of care from the team over the past few years that we’ve been patients here. We’ve always submitted our requests via the online portal and heard back on next steps within just an hour or so (often even quicker for the baby) and are offered the relevant appointment usually that same day too. The clinical team really take their time to understand and explain everything to you when they’re diagnosing, and the reception team have always been helpful and efficient. I feel so grateful to receive this quality of care and thought it was important to post my positive feedback to hopefully help others too.

The receptionist I spoke to today 13/06/2024 Mya was so caring, helpful and went above and beyond to hell me. The practice overall provides amazing care and really give time to their patients. So happy to be a patient here.

Kind and clear Dr who was very good at checking in and apologising for any possible discomfort. I had not done a smear test before and she was kind and have lots of information, told me exactly how it would or could go.

I was very impressed by the process of booking an appointment today. I filled in an online form at 9am. Within 30 minutes I received a call back from the surgery with an appointment booked for 11am. The appointment was on time and I was home by 11.30am with my medicine.

Recently I had a medication review and my dose of Nebivolol was reduced to 1.25mg per day. I said that I would start with my next repeat prescription in May and monitor my BP. I put in an order with Well Pharmacy but my order has not yet been approved. I phoned and spoke to someone who I presume was a receptionist – she told me my order would not be approved until the 6th May. I explained that I received my last order on the 8th March and that I needed them sooner. If my BP was to rise I would have to revert to 2.5 mg. The receptionist did not seem to understand and seemed just to be reading form a script. Receiving 56 Nebivolol tablets on 8th March means that they would last until 2nd May by my calculations. Ordering on 6th May would mean that they would likely be dispatched (by post) on 7th May. When dispatched Well send an email saying “It should reach you in 2 to 4 days.” So conceivably it may not reach me until 11th May. Are you really telling me that you are prepared to let people go over a week without medication? Please approve my order and let me know when this has been done. Please also process this as a formal complaint.

I was seen by the Nurse this morning and wish to commend her on her wonderful empathy, kindness, understanding and professionalism. She went above and beyond in every way for which I am truly grateful. I also wish to thank the Reception staff, for their great service, efficiency, patience and kindness. They too, went out of their way to assist me today. As a new patient, I would wholeheartedly recommend this practice.

Today I saw a GP (I can’t put her name here or it will be rejected) this is my second time within 6 months for a different issue and she has been just as helpful and professional as the first time. When I first saw Dr R in Oct 23, she totally understood my problem and I felt I was listened to. She quickly referred me to a specialist and I am now on a waiting list for surgery. Today, when I saw that I was seeing the same Gp, I felt relieved as I know she will be professional and caring just as before. Thank you The Firs for having Dr R as a GP there.
