Surgery. operates a telephone triage system; you phone the surgery between 08:00 and 10:00, to try to get a Doctor to call you back for 'Urgent' matters. I've not been able to arrange a routine appointment (other than covid inoculation) for 10-years. You are required to disclose your personal medical problems to the receptionist (In public if you visit the surgery) or the Doctor will not consider your call 'Urgent'. This is intrusive and unethical - a breach of Patient confidentiality. Today I waited for 45 minutes as "Caller No. 3" and was not answered. In that time I drove to the surgery - no phones were ringing, just one receptionist on duty. She told me that, at that time, there were 48 other patients "On hold" waiting to speak with someone, to make an appointment, let alone get a diagnosis. The 'service' at this surgery is appalling, it is impossible to get an appointment and you are forced to go and wait in A&E for anything beyond an "it can wait..." issue. The Doctors are ok, if you can get to speak with one. Feels like a 3rd-world health service.

I was on the phone for 40 minutes on Friday, I have now been on the phone for over an hour on Monday. Both times I am number 1 in the queue!! when i speak to the receptionists it takes me less than 2 minutes, so how can this be!! This has to be the worst surgery in the country!!

Struggle to find the words to express how appalling this practice is! The receptionist staff need to be retrained, have personality transplants or just be fired and replaced. They are incapable of answering the phones, I’ve been on hold for a total of 3 hours trying to get hold of a doctor after struggling with pain. I have been caller one for over 50mins so I struggle to understand what the staff are doing that takes them so long to answer the phone- or are they just lazy as well as rude and unprofessional? Where is the duty of care for the patients? I’m appalled and angry! Impossible to get an appointment! This is not okay!
