  1. Review titled Provides support worker services

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christina - Posted on 23 September 2024

The Docs is a good surgery in all aspects. Whenever I had an issue for me or my daughter they helped me. Particularly, I was happy when they provided me with a support worker to help me with any difficulties or concerns I was or still facing. Indeed, the support worker was proved valuable as she helped me on many occasions with my child, with any housing issues I may had. Also, by providing me emotional support when I needed the most and she still does. Because I am foreigner and I don't know well the health, educational etc. system in the UK she takes the time to explain to me and helps me understand so that I take the right decision. Thanks to the Docs surgery and my support worker I feel confident to overcome any difficulty in life.

  3. Review titled Disappointed with reception staff, can't book an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 June 2024

Been with this surgery for a decade and the reception staff that worked there used to be great. Can't say the same about the new employees from the last few years as they have no interest in helping the patient. Just had yet another case where I needed to deal with them to book an appointment and it was completely unhelpful. The surgery website seems to have changed and it would not give me an option to book an appointment online with them directly anymore, the guidance on their website states to call reception for emergency appointments. I follow the instruction and the same lady that I seem to have problems with each time answers and tells me I am to request appointment online. I advise her that the website states to call reception to book an urgent appointment and I can not seem to access online booking page, to which she responds that I can only book emergency appointment at 8am each day (at which time I was still asleep and was not aware I will need to see a doctor that day - I have contacted the surgery just after 9am), not to mention that the Docs website does not state this 8am "rule" for emergency appointments anywhere. She then offers me an appointment in 2 weeks, without even knowing what my issue is yet or showing any interest in the situation. It is rather ludicrous to suggest an appointment in several weeks' time when patient is calling in for an emergency assistance with an acute condition and would refuse to assist people if they did not have internet access or had issues with the website. Very unpleasant and disappointing - might have to look for a new surgery as rarely get to see a doctor here anymore, especially if you have a situation where you have to deal with reception staff. Did not manage to book an appointment or receive help from the surgery in the end.

Had a fantastic experience when trying to sort an issue with my prescriptions - all the staff on reception are very thoughtful and helpful. Made my day a lot brighter!

  5. Review titled Poor online services

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2023

The website is incredibly difficult to use. You can't access most parts of the website or even fill out a form for an appointment before 9am or after 5pm, which means that it's very inflexible for anyone who's regularly unavailable during those times, and can really slow down how quickly patients are able to get help if their schedule doesn't align. This is especially problematic now that the practice is moving more towards online services over in-person appointments. The message system on the website is also poor. I filled in a form for medical advice/scheduling an appointment a couple of weeks ago. I then got a message from the practice advising me to be available in a few weeks for a follow up call. The message wasn't emailed to me or stored on an account, you can only access the messages via a link, and the link expires after a few days, meaning that I can no longer view the message. I have since forgotten the details of the message that was sent to me, and have no way to check it. I can't even contact the practice, because there is no email or other way of contacting them outside of the very specific opening hours when they make their contact form available, and I'm not often available at those times.

  6. Review titled The Best

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike - Posted on 29 June 2023

Been a patient at this practice since I moved to Manchester over 25 years ago. The last 3 years have been a bit of a nightmare for me but the Dr's and the staff have been exceptional, cannot fault them in any way.

  8. Review titled It’s just changed so much this past 12 months

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2023

You can never get through by phone Today the website is down If you call in they want you to book on line. Once you talk to the doctors they are lovely but the rest is a very bad service. It’s changed so much this past few months I wouldn’t recommend it at all. Thank God this is my last year with these so disappointed in the overall service.

  9. Review titled Fantastic, dedicated team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Andrew M - Posted on 27 July 2023

I have been with The Docs over half my life - 27 years. I have trusted them with my physical & mental health all this time. Every member of the team - receptionists, nurses, doctors & management want to heal you and make you well. The are under immense pressure, and since the online referral system was introduced I have always been treated with care and understanding. Phones will be answered, you need patient. The receptionists are very well trained to recognise an acute emergency - if you trust them with truthful details. Self care is important too, but don’t ignore niggling symptoms. I have had increased need of support this year and I have been treated with care & compassion, underscored with professional detachment & common sense to find the next steps to healing.

  10. Review titled Explanation lacking.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 February 2023

I went to get results from a blood test recently but the lack of an explanation of the results left me feeling that I was wasting thier time, even though I now need more tests because my results were off, but here is the thing I did not get any detailed information of my tests at all. all I got was you need to do more tests,I felt like a test subject not a human being with a brain who wants to know what is going on. I now have doubts and a lack of trust with the doctor I had. I will probably ask to see another doctor as I personally could not talk to the one I had as I was always being cut off.
