Thank you to the dispensary and doctors for their timely assistance while I was away. Having realised I was short of a couple of prescription items it only took 3 hours for the practice to issue and approve an electroic prescription to a nearby chemists ready for me to pick up. Thank you again.

  2. Review titled Complete Chaos

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice blames recent system upgrades as reason for their complete melt down. Are upgrades not supposed to improve customer experience. This practice is inept in both managing system upgrades and to boot managing client health. I shall be seeking a different practice.

Dear Mr Robinson, Please accept our apologies for not responding to your comments sooner. We can confirm we migrated to a new improved clinical system in September 2022, and whilst advice was sought and acted upon to cause the least disruption to patients, regrettably we encountered many unforeseen problems. We apologise to all of our patients whom were affected during this time and can offer reassurance that these issues were quickly rectified. Kind Regards The Deepings Practice

  3. Review titled Terrible service yet again!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having given the practice 2 weeks notice for a repeat prescription, I have had to chase for an update for the last days! Impossible to get through to staff, requests not actioned. Such a shame as it was was a good surgery. Staff are clearly overworked, rude and willing to fob people off.

Good Afternoon, Firstly please accept our apologies for the delay in responding to you. We are very sorry to hear of the problems experienced ordering your prescriptions and the access problems you faced. At the time we were migrating to a new improved clinical system and experienced some unforeseen problems which led to an increase in demand on the telephone lines and footfall through the doors. All problems were quickly rectified, however, should you have any further concerns please do contact us directly. Lastly, you have made some very concerning comments regarding our staff, if you would like to contact us with further information we can investigate these comments. feedback.deepingspractice@nhs.net Kind Regards The Deepings Practice

  4. Review titled Issues with the dispensary department.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 September 2022

The practice state to allow 3 working days for repeat prescription requests, but my July, August and September prescriptions have taken much longer than the required 3 working days. On each occasion I was not contacted by the dispensary to notify of any problems/issues. From request to being notified of my collection code each of the above requests took 5, 8 and 12 working days respectively. This department needs some sort of intervention to improve services. When I chased my prescription request once a member of the dispensary team told me “we should cancel all holidays”, I do not know what they meant by this? I have never had an issue with the medical staff, all doctor and nurse appointments have been good and I have generally been able to book a convenient appointment with little stress.

  6. Review titled Appalling communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 September 2022

The Practice social media page states that today (Monday 26 September) their online services will resume following the change of computer systems, it also states to use the NHS app or Evergreen as patient access will no longer be available, this post was made 15 September with no update since. I have not been able to log on all day and at 4.10pm a member of their reception team confirmed it will not be possible to connect to online services for the rest of this week! Why no update to their social media page? Why no announcement? I have defended the practice in the past but the communication is diabolical, the management really do not help themselves.

  7. Review titled Great Practice - especially with current pressures

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 December 2022

The practice was transitioning to a new system and I therefore emailed them (following a link on their Facebook page) to ask for Proxy Access for my children. This was effected within 2 days. I subsequently had to attend for a long term condition review and the process of both arranging and attending the appointment was easy and efficient. Similarly, I had to attend during lockdown due to a pet rabbit bite and not only did I get straight through on the phones, the nurse saw me straight away and with all the procedures in place I felt very safe and looked after. I do fully appreciate that not everyone has access to social media, but the Deepings Practice posts regularly on Facebook to update patients on various things and I find their posts extremely helpful. They were simply brilliant during Covid as we could find out when phones were down, when you had to wear masks, what the updated system was etc. They also continue to post updates regarding the Practice. I find the receptionists very helpful and always point you to the right person once they know how you need help. They ask what the problem is to help - not to be nosy! I particularly like the fact you can now press a button to ask for them to call you back once your position in the queue has been reached - meaning you can get on with life instead of having to listen to endless hold music until you get down from number 24 to 1 for example. I have always found they bend over backwards to give my children appointments because most people (of course this doesn’t apply to everyone) usually need their children to see the doctor when they’re actually ill that day. Hence the appointment is last minute and is often urgent. I find ordering repeat prescriptions very easy via the NHS app and they always get sent directly to my nominated pharmacy, which itself sends me a text when they’re ready to collect. Considering I have lots of friends who are registered at other practices in nearby towns and who have terrible experiences, I really think it’s important to give credit where credit is due. Sadly the current state of the NHS is desperate and GP’s, nurses and other health professionals in doctors practices the length and breadth of the country are facing dreadful challenges (let’s not even try to talk about the hospitals) and I’d like to thank everyone at the Deepings Practice for trying their best, going the extra mile and, in my experience, delivering a great service in very difficult circumstances. People are always quick to moan but never to praise - hence this review. Thank you to you all.

  8. Review titled Prescription service is woeful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 September 2022

I ordered repeat medication on 1st Sept and as yet I have no idea when this will be available for pick up. It was approved by the GP on 5th Sept and over 2 weeks has gone by without an pay information. I can no longer see prescription on line, on the NHS app. This is a very poor service and I only order repeat medication, as I need it. How can this be so difficult?

  9. Review titled Online Services

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 September 2022

I was previously able to access my medical records and order repeat prescriptions. The practice have now migrated to a new system, which effectively means registering again for these services from scratch (the Nhs App does offer an alternative, but the option is not working). To register for the online services I called the surgery and was 27 in the queue, which by my estimation would have taken over half an hour to reach the front. I attended the surgery and queued for half an hour. Eventually, having reached the reception desk I confirmed all of my details and was handed a one page list of login instructions. Despite over 30 years working in Information Technology, I found these confusing at best. Nevertheless I persevered, but my login details for both systmonline and the linking instructions for the Nhs App failed. What now? Back to a manual process? Revisit the surgery and join the queue again, only to be presented with the same printed sheet? As an addendum, why is it still mandatory to wear a mask in the surgery when there is no national mandate, I am quad vaxed and I have no symptoms? Also, why are the reception staff so rude and dismissive of customers?

  10. Review titled Pointless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 September 2022

After returning home from university I picked up an illness. As my GP was registered back in my university city I filled in a temporary registration form so I could book an appointment at the Deepings Practice. After a bit of chasing about I managed to book an appointment at the reception and was given a ticket with said appointment date and the Dr I was meant to see. While waiting for this date my illness worsened and so this appointment became more and more important. On the day, upon trying to check in, I was told that I couldn’t have an appointment, despite being given a date and consultant name on a physical ticket they had previously given me, due to me being on temporary registration, despite being told that I could previously over the phone and in person. They told me I would have to go to my GP back in my university city, which is very far away and I wasn’t going back for a while yet and my illness was worsening. The receptionist blamed the previous receptionist who booked me the appointment claiming that they were ‘quite new’, despite me being told that I was fine getting an appointment by multiple members of staff.

Good Afternoon, I am very sorry to hear of your experience when requesting to register as a temporary patient. As a rule, your registered GP could have possibly had a telephone appointment with you and if a prescription is required this could be sent electronically to a local pharmacy. I am unable to look into your personal situation and comments or investigate this with staff as you have posted anonymously, however please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kind Regards The Deepings Practice
