    Even though not an NHS rule, the practice has removed online access for my son when he turned 13. He has monthly repeat prescriptions which the practice will only accept on a paper slip hand delivered to the practice, they won’t allow email or phone ordering. Received a text from them to book an appointment with a specific doctor for my son, queued on the phone for 25 minutes to be told that specific doctor is not working today and my son has to see them only. Told to ring back tomorrow as not allowed to book appointments for tomorrow or make a note themselves and book it tomorrow because of “the rules”. Was told, if all the appointments are gone by the time I get through tomorrow (Thursday) then I would have to try again Monday (no chance of getting through on a Monday) as that will be when that doctor will next be in! No one can explain why they have set these “rules” to not allow 13-15 year olds to have online access or be able to book an appointment for any other day than that day, even when a specific doctor has requested you book the appointment. They should be putting patients first, not themselves!

    Dear Mrs Cavers, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. The Deepings Practice receives guidance from the Royal College of General Practitioners and our policy is to restrict the scope of existing proxy access for children when they turn 13. These boundaries are put in place for patient safety and patients are advised of this in writing before the Childs 13th birthday. Online access can be requested for 13 - 15 year olds and this would be considered by their GP and the patient would be advised of the GP's decision.     Had a very successful and confidence building telephone appointment with my doctor who I felt had taken the trouble to familiarise himself with my needs and put me at ease- wonderful for stress levels

    I attended an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner, today. The experience was excellent from start to finish. Although the telephone queue to request an appointment was long as usual, I was able to press 8 and get a callback. This worked perfectly. A telephone consultation was arranged for the same afternoon and was an effective way to discuss my problem. I was invited to attend the Practice for a face-to-face consultation the following day (today). The consultation was very thorough and not rushed. Thank you. This was a good experience.

    After 2 days in row trying to get an appointment for my child I was then told by nhs 111 to contact the doctors again to be seen within 24 hours by the doctors, they had also sent over this information to the practice to then be refused bluntly by a receptionist. Very rude telephone manner towards an already worried parent. I understand doctors are busy but there is no need to be so rude and blunt towards patients.

    I placed a repeat prescription on 14th Dec, according to the NHS app this was issued on the 15th Dec. Today is 24th Dec and I still have no notification that this is ready to collect! The website states in the charter and in roles and responsibilities that repeat prescriptions will be ready for collection in 48 hours! This is not good enough and basic lacking patient care.

Please be advised we aim to work towards 3 working days for your request to be processed and authorised by your GP, and then we request a further 2-3 days for the dispensing of your medication, as per our website information.     I am a dispensing patient at the Deepings Practice and their website states to allow 3 working days for repeat prescriptions. I recently ordered a repeat prescription online and the message back from the surgery stated the prescription would be available to collect in 5 working days after 2pm, from ordering to receiving the text message to collect from their vending machine took 11 working days! A few days later I received a text message to collect a prescription from their machine and they had duplicated the previous request, when I queried this I was offered no explanation, no apology and was told the medication would need to be destroyed as it had left the surgery meaning this wasted their time, my time, my petrol and the medication. Not good!

    The latest system to contact the surgery online from the practice website is really brilliant! Of course this is only for tech-enabled folk (and not for those who are sight-, finger- or tech-impaired.) I have received swift, kind and helpful replies from a real person in several recent contacts using this wonderful service. When the practice have so many challenges and unkind comments, I wish to express and put on record my appreciation.

    Every time I have attended or had to deal with the practice I have had a good experience, reception are lovely and helpful, admin staff are efficient. All nurses and GPs I have had an appointment with have been great. The practice gets quite a lot of negative feedback from people who feel they are entitled.

    I was told I could bring my 90 year old neighbour into the practice for help with online access. The It manager was available immediately to help and talk through the system. Thank you to the staff who made this happen. Whilst in reception the desk was very busy but no one waited long and all staff were polite and courteous. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard at the practice, we do appreciate you.

    For months now repeat prescriptions are taking 8, 11, 15 working days from order to collection from the surgery, this started prior to their system change. To make matters worse there is never any communication stating their reasons why. Do they need more staff? Do they need outside intervention to make their internal procedures more efficient? Please Deepings Practice put some changes in this shambolic department so that we can collect our prescriptions from you in 3 working days as stated by you! I have tried to move to a different practice but my postcode will not allow this and you have me trapped!
