  3. Review titled Im not really sure

I was meant to have a blood test carried out on the 18th June 24 but none of it could be carried out? So I didn’t have one carried out until the 1st July 24. I’m worried because I’ve checked the NHS App and my results on their as being done on the 18/6/24 when they weren’t. The blood test wasn’t carried out until the 1/7/24. Why because the nurse couldn’t do any of it so I had to go back for one on1/7/24. I mentioned this to them when they sent me a message asking for my feedback on how my appointment went. This is making me really anxious as the entries as Abnormal on everything!!! I’m on medication for Hypertension this is making me really anxious as I have to go in for a procedure. I don’t feel they have carried out the test correctly as my blood pressure was fine. Really worried. Can I have an answer please. It was a yearly meds review.

Thank you for your message. I understand your concerns, and I want to reassure you that we are looking into the situation carefully. It appears that the blood results showing up on the NHS App with the date of 18th June are linked to the original blood test request, even though the actual blood test was not carried out until 1st July. Sometimes, when blood tests are delayed but still linked to the original request, the system may retain the original request date rather than updating it to the actual collection date. This can lead to confusion, but rest assured, the results you’re seeing were indeed from the blood sample collected on 1st July. Regarding the results showing as abnormal, I understand this can be very worrying, especially with your upcoming procedure and hypertension. It’s important to note that abnormal results may not always indicate something serious, but we review them carefully in the context of your overall health and medication. I encourage you to book a follow-up appointment so that we can discuss your results in detail and address any concerns, including ensuring the correct blood tests were carried out. This will give us the chance to explain what the results mean and make sure you are fully informed and reassured before your procedure. In the meantime, please try not to worry. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
