I’d had an operation at Lister and a few days later, once home, suspected an infection. The woman who so promptly phoned me from the surgery that afternoon was able to answer all my questions and prescribed medicine there and then. My concerns were addressed in a very professional yet warm and caring manner. I was very impressed and felt fortunate to be a patient of Baldock Surgery.

I was able to see a doctor promptly via the E consult. The care and treatment was appropriate and thorough. The receptionist was friendly and helpful

After phoning and explaining my symptoms I was offered an appointment within 40 minutes. The doctor I saw was most helpful and had a very good manner.

I submitted an eConsult just after 8am, was called by the surgery around 9.15 and given an appointment for 11.30. I was examined by my GP a few minutes after arriving and left the pharmacy with my prescription 15 minutes after leaving the surgery. Fantastic service!

I suddenly needed to talk to a doctor and the surgery staff ensured I received a call same afternoon from a doctor. This ensured I received medication. Brilliant.

I did an econsult last week and were given an appointment for a tel consult today. My issue was discussed with care and consideration, I did not feel I had to justify what I needed. Always pleased with this surgery

E consult is ridiculous difficult to fill with repeated questions questions which are not relevant to why I needed an appointment even when I managed to complete it I was not contacted by the surgery and had to ring them. Receptionist was quite rude telling me I had to fill out an e consult in an abrupt manner! Explained I had and two days had passed since I was ment to be contacted only then to be told follow the link and re apply for an appointment!! This surgery used to be great fantastic staff all round seems all the decent receptionist’s have left I haven’t a clue what doctor I’m under as I never see the same one and due to this I get frequent text or calls asking me to book in for bloods when I ask why I’m told you haven’t had any in a while explained I had some only 4 weeks ago yet still have to have them done again no explanation as to why. Only last month I turned up for bloods to be told I have your form but no information so you don’t need them doing I’m so confused I have no idea what is going on I’m under a few consultants and have some serious health conditions it’s really quite scary as I have zero faith in the GP’s now this is due to never seeing the same one so no continuity in care. Also I had seriously high blood pressure already have heart disease had chest pain also radiating to my arm I was there for a med review while this was happening and she asked me to take myself to hospital I couldn’t move was breathless and clearly unwell the lack of compassion is unbelievable luckily I had someone who take me to A&E I honestly do not know what has happened to this surgery since covid it’s horrific can not get through on the phone constant texts saying surgery closed due to unforeseen circumstances texts saying e consult switched off they don’t answer the phone I don’t know what they actually do as I have walked to the surgery while I was ringing them to book an appointment got there and there were three or four of them chatting away not one answered the phone I ended up showing her my phone saying look I have been on hold all this time to end up walking here and apparently phone line is still busy she couldn’t care less muttered something under breath so rude an not helpful at all. This surgery is in personal lacks care reception are argumentative at times it’s a shambles. Used to be a fantastic surgery I wouldn’t recommend this surgery to anyone.

I needed a same day appointment. After filling and submitting the econsult just after 8am, I received a call at 10:45 and was in and out of the surgery by 11:20! The doctor i saw was fantastic. Very friendly, professional and reassuring and very thorough!

After completing an econsult I was contacted by a nurse about the burn on my tummy, she requested a photo which I sent. I was given excellent advice and dressings for the burn.

I absolutely loved the Baldock Surgery, I felt the Dr’s, Nurses and staff really cared, but the management of the surgery now has plummeted. The contact methods for the surgery are terrible, the E-Consult is a mission and tedious. I work in the emergency services and feel sad around the state of the surgery and lack of patient experience. It was a local, personably surgery historically, but now it’s commercialised and impersonal. Being sent to Letchworth Surgeries and outsourcing patients is terrible. This is my surgery and I want to be seen by one of my GP’s here. Really sad times. I used to feel like a patient that was cared for a few years ago here, now I feel like another number on a piece of paper. I don’t think anyone cares here anymore.
