  1. Review titled Can't get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 January 2024

Never available on the phone - you might get an appointment if it's for a child or the elderly but I've had to go private to speak to someone. I've managed occasionally to get an appointment for my young child, but it's not been easy. Additionally, my GP was requested to give me specific tests almost a year ago but this has not happened. Receptionists often engrossed in something on the computer screen rather than acknowledge or speak to you.

  2. Review titled Appalling System

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 December 2023

The booking system is so badly designed & so unforgiving if you cannot get your phone out in time for the 2 rings that we are allowed, & if you even get far enough to be rung, that many people are resigned to enduring ill health until it's bad enough to go to A & E. How is this justified? How is this kind? Someone had a frightening eye problem & was told that they would have to go through the whole rigmarole of trying to see a doctor the next day, so she rang 111. They contacted Surgery to say that this patient must be seen straight away. I think this is appalling. What kind of a 'service' is this? There is minimum human contact & if you miss the callback, your case is closed & you have to wait until the next day to start again. I am changing Practice.

  3. Review titled Totally cruel

Rated 1 star out of 5

Probably the most inaccessible gp services in the whole NHS. First, you have to register via their app, then you have to set the alarm at 8am to book an appointment online, come past 8:15 only telphone clinics are available. When they phone you, you wouldnt even get a sound plan. And you wonder why life expectancy is getting worse its because of poor health service like this. So shameful.

  4. Review titled Frustrating

Rated 2 stars out of 5

New system very hard to navigate. Did eventually get call back from very nice doctor. Got speedy blood test but then got email to make appointment to discuss it and couldn't get face-to-face with any doctor, let alone the one I had spoken to before. Quite upsetting.

  5. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 October 2023

I have struggled to get an appointment for the last three weeks, and have now given up. It isn't the first time as I have never been able to get an appointment. I went to the surgery to ask if I could make an appointment and was told to use the app. to make an appointment or ring 111. There are never any available appointments via the app. and 111 sends you to the pharmacy. The visit to the pharmacy hasn't resolved my health issue on this occasion. Sometimes you need to see a trained medical professional when self help hasn't worked, thats why being able to get an appointment at your GP surgery is important, so we don't end up at a&e.

  6. Review titled Great difficulty in making contact with the practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by David Taylor - Posted on 02 April 2024

The practice has made it nearly impossible for patients to make contact. The Evergreen app is only open at 0800 on some mornings. Often it is not open for making contact because of staff shortages. When it is open at 0800, it is often closed again by 0805 because "no further appointments are available". In September 2023 I requested a call-back. I answered a call to my phone which was immediately terminated before I could speak. I then received an update on the MyGP app advising me that my case was concluded. The practice is failing to deliver any level of service acceptable to patients

  7. Review titled unaccessible

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 September 2023

The staff are largely helpful, but the askmygp system is appalling. A call to the Reception staff, in response to a text message requesting that I do so, is met with impotence. There are no appointments available today. And nothing can be booked in for a future date. I'm not sure why I rang. There will almost never be an appointment available, logically, because of the askmygp system. All the appointments are gone by 8.30am. I am told to go to askmygp between 8 and 8.30pm tomorrow and hope that I get an appointment (I don't really know what it's for - it's in response to a letter or some results, but the receptionist isn't able to elaborate). I have a long term condition which means that I need consistent care, . The one doctor who properly engages with my condition is only available for 3.5 days a month, so the chances of seeing them are slim to vanishing. This would be upsetting in healthy times, but the reason for getting in touch with the doctor is because you are not well. Dealing with labyrinthine administrative tasks and appointment bingo adds to the problem. I haven't managed to see a GP in person for years. When consultants tell me my GP will follow something up, I just laugh or I'd cry. Sometimes I cry too. Because it's a battle to even get into the system, let alone get an appointment, and probably if I ask for an email it will be a phone call and if I ask for a phone call it will happen when I and the doctor are both clearly exhausted and neither of us can think straight. I asked the receptionist if there is a patients advisory team or a manager I could speak to at some point, because I want to get involved rather than snipe from the sidelines, but that request was met with a blank. I don't blame the reception team. But the management team need to address this. You can't just keep telling us that 'this is how the system works'. Because it doesn't.

  8. Review titled Difficulty with obtaining appointments.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Sue Becker - Posted on 23 August 2023

I'm trying to get an appointment at the surgery as per the advice received by text after a recent blood test and as I'm sure , in common with the majority of my fellow citizens , I'm having huge difficulty. The text did emphasise that the matter isn't urgent so I do have that comfort. I did get through by phone once or twice but on receiving the information that the callback might be at any time over the following 48 hours I didn't proceed - I can't stay in for 48 hours !!! After that I accepted the reality of the situation and asked for the return of my mobile phone which I'd lent to a young neighbour while he saves up for one of his own. I don't like the thought of discussing my private business in public but I did get a callback and ran outside the building where I was situated at the time only to give up in frustration when I couldn't get any reception. I've now accepted the inevitable and installed the Evergreen app - supported by my fellow attendees at a technology for the bewildered class that I go to in Brixton. But how do I use this ? A receptionist at the practice forwarded me a phone number and email address for this organisation ...... there is a recorded message that makes it clear that they're aware that there's a problem when I dial the number but if if I understand things properly , I have to know what edition of the app I have. How do I find that out ? I have sent an email with my queries and assume that I'll receive a reply at some stage - in the interim I'll just carry on ringing. p.s. I have noticed some of the other negative reviews on the site talking about the portal [ is that the right word ? ] closing at 8.01a.m. - is this right. I have let the practice know about my difficulties over the phone but there hasn't been a huge amount of interest shown to be honest. p.p.s. I've tried to carry on with this process and received the prompt that reviews with capital letters can't be processed - I can only see that I'd put p.s. in upper case which is gramatically correct as far as I know so if I do get to the end and you see my lower cases p.s.s , please don't think that it's me !!

  9. Review titled Too hard too deal with

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Matt - Posted on 30 August 2023

I find the computerised AskMyGP facility completely inhumane. If you get on early enough to actually make a request, but your request doesn’t quite fit the flow chart, then you get shut down with no chance of a conversation or explaining. Then you have to wait for the following day to start again. I wonder how many people who are not really comfortable with computers are missing out on treatment as a result of this system, because those of us who are pretty good with computers are missing out. No wonder A&E gets so busy. This system, and the lack of support from the practice, has had members of my family in tears on numerous occasions. That can’t be a good sign, especially when the reason we are contacting the GP is because something is wrong. This only adds to the stress of it all. I really feel that things are made worse rather than better. When you do get a message from someone, it is often not as requested - eg an email rather than a phone call. When you do actually see a GP in person then most of them are great and reassuring. But the battle to get to see someone is too big. I believe everyone who goes to work there does so because they are a caring person, so they must be disappointed or upset to read this. I think it is time to change the system to a more caring and accessible one.

  10. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 July 2023

I have had cause to visit the practice twice in the last month, in relation to ongoing symptoms of the menopause. On both occasions I was met by sympathetic, informed and proactive doctors. I felt listened to, that appropriate action was taken to address the immediate issues and that a plan to follow up on my progress will mean that I will not get 'lost in the system'. Thank you.
