  1. Review titled Excellent Receptionists

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2024

I cannot understand why others have left negative reviews. I have had nothing but the best service from the entire team. The receptionists are responsive and caring. They are the backbone to the practice. They actively listen without rushing you, and offer you suitable appointments around your work schedule. I am moving and home needed a review with the nurse for a repeat prescription. They offered me an appointment within 48 hours. The reception team handled my concerns with a smile, compassion, and empathy, and the nurse who conducted my review was very professional in her manner, and arranged a prescription without any hesitation after I answered all her questions. The team work under such challenging situations especially when understaffed. They should be respected and their efforts recognised for providing excellent service despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis. I highly recommend this surgery.

  3. Review titled Very rude receptionist!!

I've had a receptionist laugh at me over the phone, and I've witnessed her ridicule other patients in the surgery.

  4. Review titled Worst GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kousar - Posted on 06 June 2024

The staff are so rude that I made my mind several times that I should change the surgery but the only thing hold me back is they always give appointments, the rest of the service is very bad. In one occasion my 3 year old son was moving around, the receptionist said "this is not the play ground". And today I had an appointment with an associate practitioner she had a cup in her table and I did not take buggy with my son, so I was explaining about my son situation, my son spilled the tea, she was so angry, literally I could see her red face and she said its, not a playground if you cannot handle a child you should bring buggy with you. I know my son spilled her tea but I have never seen such rude behaviour before anywhere. My suggestion for "Sydenham House surgery "If you cannot run the surgery with good work ethics shut it down".

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are deeply sorry to hear about the negative interactions you have had with our staff. This is certainly not the standard of care and professionalism we aim to provide at Sydenham House Surgery. We understand how important it is for all our patients, including young children to feel welcome and respected in our practice. The comments and behaviour you described from both the receptionist and the associate practitioner are unacceptable and do not reflect our values. We will be addressing these issues with the staff involved to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future. At the same time, I would like to reiterate that we have few incidents happened due to running around and playing of the children in the premises. And it is equally important to provide safe and peaceful environment to the clinician to treat you. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  5. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tim - Posted on 26 February 2024

I was going abroad and got quick appointment after triage. Dr called same day and sorted out my medications and sent to pharmacy. Small but very helpful practice and everyone willing to go extra mile. NHS is struggling due to cuts and shortages and target pressure but this surgery is trying their best to help in difficult political situation.

  7. Review titled No Response

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am a diabetic patient; One of the medicines was advised as to cause side effects and taken off. But the surgery had not replaced the same with another one. I had been chasing multiple times but this was not done. Then I look for an appointment after waiting an hour on the call - they say no appointment. I call again the next day, because I think I had asked them why they held for an hour or so and couldn't give an appointment (I am also a tax payer), they said can call next day. I went again to call next day- looks like they have blocked my number as I couldn't even get into the queue. GPs are paid very well and NHS pays them, then why shouldn't we get an appropriate service. The management is looking at profits and not service. This is basic fundamental right to be seen and advised.
