Review titled An ok practice if you can be seen
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 April 2023
I have severe pain in my leg at the moment. I filled out an online form and had a telephone appointment 5 days later. Was prescribed medicine and told I will have a call a week later. The call never came, I was accused by a pointed and rude receiptionist that I must have missed the call, and was tol no phone appointments available and I'll be spoken to in a weeks time. What about this appointment for this week that never came?! Basic customer service would be nice. How are they allowed to function like this, especially with rude receiption staff? Not the best when you are in severe pain

Thank you for your feedback. We sorry you could not wait to be seen by the clinician but we are pleased to see you have booked another appointment. We are sorry you feel our staff our laughable as that is not their intention. We see that you and your extended family have had many successful appointments with our Practice and been supported for health needs and one of our GPs has endeavoured to helped you find employment hence we sorry you feel we have let you down on this occasion.

Review titled Great patience and understanding from the nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 March 2023
Went for a cervical screening test today - something I've avoided for too long. The nurse was wonderful, listening to me, asking how she could help make things easier and showing no judgment at all, just kindness and encouragement. She was amazing - thank you.

Review titled Approachable and effective practice

The practice staff are very approachable and when they contact you , listen to your health problem and provide effective and timely treatment. It saves me time by having these telephone conversation if I don’t need a face to face appointment. When I need to be seen they will book an appointment

Review titled Unable to ever get through on the phone
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 March 2023
Last week a Dr told me that I needed to have a second x Ray as the first had not been done properly. I went to the hospital the next day and the request from the Dr had not been put through. I tried to phone the surgery from the hospital on and off 36 times, no one answered the phone. I had to attend the surgery due to this and I was assured that the request had been out through. I am at the hospital today and no request has been put through again. I’ve tried ringing the surgery again and it is constantly engaged. There is no queueing system on the phones so all I can do is keep ringing and ringing but i work full time and so not have time to do this. Thankfully a lovely lady on the x Ray department has put the request in for me so I should be having my x Ray today. It is extremely frustrating when I don’t go to the Dr’s very often and when I do I can’t get through on the phone and I waste my time by having to attend the surgery as it’s quicker. Not everyone can even do this. The times you can request an appointment are now restricted so it seems to me that you have too many patients and not enough staff.

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Heather - Posted on 10 February 2023
Communication with the practice is efficient and clear. Their triage system via the online form works well. The online prescription service also works well and the pharmacists are always helpful. My experience has been that GPs are thorough, get tests done to understand what the problems are, refer to other health professionals when appropriate and follow up after initial problems. My experience has been that all practice staff are helpful and patient. It is good to know that they are there!

Having been a patient at Studholme MC for many years now, I have always felt very well cared for and informed, even of any due checkups.

Review titled Male Receptionist was exceptionally kind and helpful.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jean Tilley - Posted on 23 February 2023
Male Receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. After responding to a “instruction” to collect a white topped bottle and supply a early morning urine sample. I prepared a sample at home to take to surgery. At the age of 87 I have to make a tremendous effort to get to surgery on bus after trekking 1/4 mile to bus stop with no seating. So taking a sample with me in the first instance saved me having to repeat the journey again the next day.

Review titled Poor customer service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 May 2023
I requested to speak to a pharmacist as have just finished a course of antibiotics the morning, but do not feel any better, so think I might need another prescription, only to be told "there is no point talking to a pharmacist as they will want you to see the doctor" and "we can make an appointment for you to attend the hospital tomorrow". What is the point of having a doctors surgery if they keep sending patients to the hospital??? I am pretty sure a new prescription could have been done today. Useless surgery.
