  1. Review titled Appointment with Doctor

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024

Took my Mother to see her Doctor today. She was very kind & caring and extremely thorough and took the time to listen and act upon what needed doing. I feel extremely fortunate that my Mother has this GP for all her medical issues. Thank you to the nurse for taking bloods at short notice & again being so patient and professional. Thank you very much reception team for the loan of your wheelchair whilst at the appointment. We are very grateful to you all.

Had a Doppler check of both leg arteries today. Check was carried out professionally and I was kept informed at all times.

Had a general physical checkup with the nurse. The appointment was on time and the nurse was a very caring person who listened and made recommendations. Thank you for a great first visit.

  5. Review titled Can no longer seem to get seen or speak to anyone

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 October 2023

After many years of being v happy with this surgery I’m afraid to say I just can’t seem to ever get through. I work and it seems unless you are available all day to sit on the phone you might as well give up. I was 27th in the queue on the phone. After 45mins they cut me off. Called back and after another long wait got to speak to someone who said they no longer provide the service I needed. She then text me details of a clinic with the only available appointments in Wood Green - over an hours drive away. I’ve been trying to ring back ever since as I really need to speak to a GP about my symptoms first but every time I call I get told they’ve closed the phone lines as they’ve reached capacity for the day. Feels hopeless. Over four months of this and still can’t even speak to a GP.

  6. Review titled I recommend this practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Allison Sexton - Posted on 04 August 2023

Called at 08:00, was No.21 in queue after just 10 minutes, got through to a lovely receptionist, she was very efficient. Helped to arrange a phone call then a home visit on the same day. Blood test done and all questions answered with another phone call later in the day. Very happy with the service and advise this practice gave my elderly relative.

  7. Review titled Appointments

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Changed the way you book appointments. Previously had to fill in an online form now you have to call. Second day of trying to call but unable to connect. Tried online to cancel an appointment message asks if you're registered with NHS app select yes. Appointment booking is unavailable directly through the NHS app. Would it not be a good idea to have some sort of communication on their website.

  8. Review titled Impossible to contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

Back in the 80s I had an allocated doctor at this surgery, that continued until the late 90s when they retired. I never met my doctor, other than as a baby. After they retired we were allocted a new doctor, who left after a few years then for the next 20 years we floated around which ever doctor was free. If you want to make an appointment remotely you have to call at 9:00, if you call after 9:30 there will be no slots. 95% of the time you will be told to call back in 2 weeks as they are fully booked for that period. You also have a 50/50 chance of someone answering the phone. If you walk into the clinc you are more likely to be seen, but they will also often turn you away and tell you that you have to phone to book (again there is a 15/30 min window to do this). Once you are in, and you have an appointment, then things are fine. The surgery is old, but it's clean and the doctors/nurses are friendly. Having had a child in 2020 I just used 111 and went to St Peters for all medical advise. 111 would ask us to speak to the GP but we had to explain they are only only from 9-5 on weekdays, not on weekends and you cannot make appointments over the phone. On 4 occassions 111 made a registration for us with the doctors to be seen to get medicine for our child, on all four occasions Studholme said they had no record. I moved two during 15 years, and informed them multiple times, yet my address was never updated. You cannot get a form online, you cannot get a form for the surgery. I moved in 2023 overseas, and now need to get my medical records (as the UK is not digital). Obviously it's impossible to get hold of anyone from the surgery to arrange this, so i will have to get all of my vacinations again most likely, or else I will not be able to apply for a green card. I do not miss the constant fighting of trying to be seen at the surgery. Again when you get an answer, then you get a great service, but 90%+ of the time you just won't be seen for months.

I rang with an urgent request for my daughter who is type one diabetic, a fantastic receptionist and doctor arranged for an electronic prescription to be sent immediately. This was done within two hours and sent to a pharmacy out of the area. They were brilliant

  10. Review titled Always manages to get an appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lizzy - Posted on 19 June 2023

Had a text confirmation re appointment that I hadn't made so had to call the surgery to ascertain if the appointment was for my daughter or myself (this might be something the surgery needs to change when sending a text message. A parent will have the same phone number as the child so maybe add the name of the patient to the text message to save us having to phone in). I was able to change the appointment to a date that suited me and the lady I spoke to was polite, professional and helpful.
