  1. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Brendan Cowan - Posted on 06 September 2024

My mother died in August 2024 - her palliative care was dealt with by this surgery. Since then, as well as talking about filling out the death certificate, I've had nothing but help from the surgery. I've been seeing the GP on a weekly basis, as they help me navigate this traumatic time. The GP has helped me with the hospice bereavement service, but has also given me a safe space to talk about how I feel, as I navigate my grief. I'd have been lost without them.

  3. Review titled Very poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 October 2024

First we were prescribed medication that we were to collect from next door pharmacy, and we found out via msg that we need to specimen that doctor never mentioned. We left samples 2 times at reception and there is no result as sample was not signed, we handled the sample to receptionist that was not bothered to inform that we need to label the sample. It is unbelievable! It is a month after the visit and we still do not have medication for my daughter. Worst ever service and no correct information from doctor and from reception.

  4. Review titled Excellent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would just like to give them some positive feedback as everyone is so quick to give negative nowadays I believe credit is due to this surgery. We moved to Ashford in 2016 and was dubious about switching surgeries but it was the best change for our family, from even starting ours, we were referred for IVF from here and every time our son needs help they see him immediately I love the online form and the fact they will txt you as it’s convenient when I’m in work. I’ve just been and whenever I my husband or my son have been we have nothing but professional polite sincere GPs receptionists and nurses we’ve not had one bad experience and they always accommodate us with times and dates so thank you very much

  5. Review titled Good service from receptionist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Indy - Posted on 13 June 2024

My daughter was bitten and nothing over the counter helped. I called to see if I could get an appt and there was no availability but the receptionist was so helpful in looking and arranging an alternate at the acute clinic for my daughter. This helped my daughter from further issues as the doc prescribed antibiotics which helped to stop the infection. I hate to think if this alternative method was not available, with the difficulty of obtaining a GP appt it would have been very serious. Therefore I thank the receptionist for helping and being patience instead of fobbing me off with no GP appointment. However I do think it depends who answers the phones, as I appreciate the frustration they faced but on the other hand people called because they need help therefore as hard and frustrating the role is of being a receptionist, you actually hold the key of getting seen, so please keep up the service with patience and empathy..

  6. Review titled Very caring

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My son was ill last Friday and really needed to see a GP 111 were not useful sending me to a pharmacy who couldn't help. The receptionist said they were full and no appointments left but she managed to find us some help and the staff at practice all went out of their way to help which was past their opening hours on a Friday evening. The staff in the NHS are really trying their best in a system that is difficult. Thankyou to the staff at the surgery for giving their time when they didn't have to and staying late when they have their own families to go home and look after.

  7. Review titled Really Good Health Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I wanted to book an appointment so I used their online booking service this week and it is really easy to use and saves having to use the phone. My experience at Studholme has been excellent. Staff were helpful, their website is easy to use and their new online booking request service is ideal. I been a patient here for a while and never had any problems with doctors or staff. Much appreciated.

  8. Review titled Deteriorating service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 February 2024

Wanted to book the 50 to 74 years health check as it is over 5 years since my last one. Was told there are no more appointments for this service. So why do they still advertise it in their waiting room. Also now difficult to make appointments - seems unless you are already ‘in the system’ you are told you cannot book even when you present at reception. No wonder people go to a&e.

i rang the surgery this morning and was put in a queue. i was number 13 in the queue. i was holding on for fifty minutes when i finally got to number 1 in the queue and was waiting a further 10 minutes when someone picked the phone up and immediately put it down which cut me off. tried to ring back only to be told that i was number 25 in the queue. i found this very frustrating as have been trying to get help since friday. i am i n extreme back pain. i find this unexceptable

Thank you for your feedback. It is disppointing that this is anonymous as it denies us the opportunity to specifically help you. As mentioned on the incoming phone message you have the option of waiting in the phone queue or avoiding the wait and requesting help via our Practice Website. We have redeveloped our Practice Website to make it easier to use as the website provided by the NHS was confusing and not user friendly. Please do contact us if you are in pain and need help.

  10. Review titled Very good surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 January 2024

I had to see a nurse today in the asthma clinic. She was very professional. Listened to what I had to say about my asthma and treatment of it. She then explained the newer treatments, allowed me to try and is improving my ongoing treatment. The medical treatment at the surgery gas always (over 40years) been excellent. Sadly now there are not enough GPs. However they are always caring when you see them.

Thank you for your review and your positive experience which we will share with our team. It is a shame the NHS is short of doctors but hopefully at some stage this situation will be addressed.
