Support was given with mental health after a few issues with my health But it can be very frustrating when asking for help and just not enough time to explain how your feeling

The GP I saw today was the first time I met him. He was friendly and attentive throughout the appointment. He gave very good advice about my condition and spent time with me without rushing the appointment. Listened and answered all questions. Very happy with the excellent service today.

I arrived at the surgery for what I thought was a 1.30pm appointment when it was in fact for 11.30am. The member of staff was very helpful and polite and non-judgemental. They did their best and booked me an appointment later that day.

I called the surgery this after after being told by pharmacist that my mums medication on her repeat prescription is out of stock. I was in the queue for an hour before a young lady answered basically saying there is nothing that can be done as all clinical staff leave at 4:30pm. She said if I needed it I should of gone to surgery. I explained that I work and only just found out. She said I had to call in the morning to see what can be done as nothing could be done. I even asked if she could leave a message for clinician as I work in the morning explained that my mum only had a days blood pressure table left. She hung up on me! I waited thinking if was a mistake she would call back. No chance!!!! What a disgrace and disgusting service. So I will have to spend another good knows how long tommorow on the phone but more likely will have to reply on 111 to get an urgent repeat. Disgrace and I don’t expect anyone to even bother acknowledging this review either.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to leave the above feedback, we are sorry that you had a negative experience with the Practice. I would also like to apologise that you had to wait a while in the queue to be attended to. From your feedback it seems you had visited your local pharmacy and you were informed that they were closing at 16:30pm and therefore had no one to assist you, so they asked you to visit your GP surgery. Please note that the surgery is open from am till 18:30pm Monday to Friday. We have clinicians available till 18:30pm. We have the ability to have a clinician issue a medication if a patient has run of their medication and it is needed urgently. So, I apologise if one of reception staff said nothing could be done and asked you to call the surgery the next day. As a team we work hard to provide good quality care for our patients, and we welcome all feedback as it gives us the opportunity to improve our services. I would investigate the experience you had with one of our reception staff, and this is mainly for the purpose of learning and training. Please note that there are other options to have urgent medication issues, such as using the eConsult platform. It is easy to use and once your form is completed and submitted you will receive a call from one of our clinicians within 24 hours. Please visit our web site and the eConsult platform is on there.
