Review titled Brilliant GP Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by S Patel - Posted on 28 March 2023
I have used this practice for several years. The quality of the care is the best I have ever experienced from a GP surgery. Everything is done with a great level of efficiency, thoughtfulness, and quality. The doctors I have interacted with have all been superb. The wider staff team has always ensured that appointments, tests and medication are processed quickly and carefully. As a whole, the communication of the practice with its patients is extremely good in my experience. On many occasions, the challenges of a difficult day have been offset by the quality of the care provided by this practice. As a physical space, it is also extremely clean and a pleasant place to wait.

Review titled Excellent practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nico Rosetti - Posted on 23 March 2023
They are far better than any gp experience I have previously had. Any issues we ran into have been down to wider nhsunderfunding related problems which apply across the uk, but they have juggled a huge patient load whilst still being kind and accessible. I have previously struggled to get seen by GPs and they have been very different and always helpful. I do not feel stressed dealing with them, which is more than can (unfortunately) be said about many other practices.

Review titled Excellent practice

I am surprised at the criticisms. Both my late husband and I have received excellent care, including home visits for my husband. The doctors and nurses are very helpful and I am delighted to be registered with them

Review titled Problematic
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 February 2023
Unfortunately the surgery does not seem to see itself as part of the community. Its staff do their best to stop discussions about improving it. The practice manager (is there one?) wont return calls and no one will give you their name. Most of the staff are part time so there is no continuity of care. It could (and has been) great. Now its very sterile (atmospherically) and sad

Review titled Great doctors awful management
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 November 2022
This surgery could be so good but the management is not patient facing in contrast to the doctors who are mostly excellent. The problems are: a) the booking team do their best to prevent you seeing or hearing from the doctor - they do the diagnosis when you book an appointment b) its a one size fits all approach so a short call is equal to a long in person appointment. There don't seem to be walk ins or phone calls except at the full length (they used to be separated which was much more sensible) c) the doctors wont call or email back over anything even a result of a test, and the booking team are very reluctant to pass messages on d) the doctors are all on short weeks so between times its hard to pick up the pieces if it needs a follow up or you want test results e) they used to have testing in house but everything has to be referred now so it can take ages f) management is frightened to be seen - they put up barriers so there's no proper patient complaints or suggestion process

Thank you for providing a review. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the appointment system and that you cannot get a telephone call or email response from our GPs. However, we do offer a range of access, including face-to-face appointments, telephone consultations and e-consults; you also have the option of online booking, whereby you can bypass reception and book your appointment online. Thank you for the positive feedback regarding the GPs. With regard to complaints, you can access our complaints procedure and form on our website; alternatively, you can ask reception to provide you with a paper form. There is also a comments box in the reception area. If you would like to discuss your complaint further with the management team, don't hesitate to contact us; we will be happy to arrange a meeting with the practice manager. Regards St Philips Medical Centre
