Review titled Impossible to get f2f appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 March 2024
First reported complaint Jan 9. Sent to offsite GP, then referred to blood tests. Only offered telephone response to blood tests, (10 days after the results were received( in the meanwhile condition deteriorated rapidly, to point where I am not capable of walking my daughter to school, but told by receptionist I can't have a face to face appointment until after phone appointment. All f2f appointments need "telephone Triage" which they won't schedule, so if you have children who are not ill but need a medical condition managed they need to take up to the whole day off while you wait for a call. Appallingly inaccessible.

Review titled Still Debating
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Although I think the role of nurse/practitioner is to be accepted , I do hope that the Doctor/Patient relationship will not be discarded entirely. Does the NP have to report to the patients Doctor in every case the problem and medication prescribed?

Review titled Great practice, supportive staff, handy pharmacy next-door
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dan - Posted on 15 March 2024
I was with this practice while at university. Staff would go above and beyond to help and to make you feel seen as a person as opposed to one of many patients- my GP, and front desk staff were all especially supportive and helpful in every interaction I had with them. Would reccomend St Paul's to anyone living in or moving to Winchester! Proffessional and supportive staff and a good appointment booking system.

Review titled Outstanding service!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Robert Scarlett - Posted on 27 December 2023
I’m leaving this review to simply acknowledge the amazing and wonderful receptionist at St Paul’s surgery. On the two occasions she has assisted me, she has gone above and beyond in helping me and making my visit one of pleasure. Not only did she deal with my request, but she listened to my questions and tended to them all. So I’m writing this review to let herself and others know that she’s fantastic at her remit and I’d like to say a big ‘Thank you’ Thanks to this receptionist I got to see my favourite Doctor, whom is also extremely helpful and understanding. Thank you! Rob S

Review titled Yet again ....great care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Julie Peshall - Posted on 04 December 2023
I have nothing but praise for this surgery. This time a totally appropriate phone appt resulted in a prescription and then 1 week later a letter from the hospital to book a consultant referral. I am certain that I would have been seen face to face if it had been necessary. Let's be thankful that St Paul's is still working incredibly hard to give us excellent care, when so many other GP's elsewhere in the country are really struggling. Thank you to the whole team

My husband trying to get appointment for last 6 months and nothing. They always fully booked, you can call in morning and afternoon and still nothing… it’s a disaster not surgery.

Review titled Wonderful duty team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tessa Mullins - Posted on 30 January 2023
The duty team at St Paul’s never cease to impress me with their prompt call backs and availability of face to face appointments. When I recently called about my little boy (almost at closing time) they immediately saw him and took such care and time with us- such kind clinicians and and an incredibly well run service. Thank you.

Review titled I Would Not Go Anywhere Else!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jane Gordon - Posted on 21 January 2023
Ive always received a good level of service from my Surgery compared to my previous one after my regular GP left! I have quite a complicated medical condition & so its easier to deal with one GP - usually if I need medical help this starts with a GP call back - since 2014 call backs have happened on day expected - only once was I missed but that was due to my GP being called out for an emergency! Only being missed 1 time in 9 years is not bad going! Personally I prefer to let my GP decide during call back what happens next - theres no point waiting weeks to see her in person if she can sort prescription or tests/referrals during a call back! She can book an appointment quite quickly if she does need to see me! If we need to wait for test results - next steps can also be sorted during a follow up call back too! I have needed to use triage service a number of times over the years - the latest was last year - nurse called within half hour to get more info - she then sent text so I could send photos of injury - nurse called back within 10mins - wrote prescription/sent to pharmacy & requested I go to A&E (I hadnt gone straight to A&E as injury had happened a month before in another county - but I was experiencing complications due to lack of correct treatment whilst away - so I contacted my surgery once I got home!) My experience with reception/admin staff in person/over phone has always been positive! Honestly the service has changed over years - to some it probably seems less personal but thats due to technology being implemented & my surgery arent doing any less than others - I find it easier/quicker to sort stuff like repeat prescriptions using the NHS app that my surgery have bothered to upgrade their systems so I could use it! I also get regular email/text updates from them - have found these useful when it comes to reminding me that Im due/qualify for vaccinations or Im due a test/screening. Surgery also uses this servive to alert me that certain services are or arent available for a while.
