I have been registered with this practice since 1970 and have always been treated with respect and professionalism. The GPs at the practice always give you the attention you require with care and in a supportive and positive manner

Review titled Urgent prescription not signed off for collection
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by LINDA GRINDALL - Posted on 23 May 2023
My blood pressure tablets were not signed off by the GP due to it being a bank holiday and the secretary unable to open all her emails in her working day. This resulted in me running out of my blood pressure medication. After visiting my local pharmacists several times she gave me some tablets till the GP had authorised my prescription.

Dear Linda, We are sorry to hear the difficulties you had to get a prescription. I have looked at your records & can see originally your pharmacy had requested in April which the records show this was to early. We then had the Bank holiday 8/5/23 a further request came into the surgery via email from your pharmacy , clearly you were effected by the huge demand of prescription requests from local pharmacy's as we had many duplications, which is a waste of workforce time as we can not issue earlier then they are required. But staff still have to go through to check records before sending over to relevant Gp to issue. Please accept our apologies for the delay caused. Kind Regards Jane Hollingsworth Practice Manager Please accept our apologies

All the staff are kind and they try to help. The doctors are really caring and they fallowing up the patient problem. If you need an urgent appointment usually you can get one in the same day. I am overall happy with their service the only problem is the website that I don’t find it user-friendly and you can not apply for any requests out of the working time on website.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. This will be discussed with the team. If you can be more specific about what you find un-friendly with the surgery website then please write into the practice & mark for my attention as I would be very happy to take it forward to our supplier. It is not safe for the practice to open the website outside of core hours as we would not meet the deadline turn around to our patients. We hope you can understand our reasons. Kind Regards Practice Manager

Review titled Practically not existent Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2023
My family have been registered with the practice for 25+ years and I have always been really happy with them although the receptionists have sometimes been very brusque and intrusive. Since Covid this has all changed, to get through on the phone is extremely difficult and it is impossible to get a face to face appointment with a doctor.

Review titled What has happened to this practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by tim hollis - Posted on 09 December 2022
My family has used this practice for 40 years. The Doctors have been a credit to the NHS. Sadly since covid, many things have changed for the worst. (1) it is extremely hard to get through on the phone (2) appointments are like hens teeth (3) emergency appointments are non existent. There are numerous other criticisms, which I would be delighted to share with the practice manager. I do however wish to share a specific situation today. My wife has been suffering from a rasping cough & did not sleep at all last night.Clearly medical advice was required. We started to phone at 8 O'clock this morning. The phone simply cut off with every call made. At 8.30am the phone was answered, we were told there were no appointments, and to call back at 3.30pm. When questioned (1) would the phone be answered (2) would there be any appointments - we were told the "I can't answer that, and the best chance of getting an appointment was,to arrive in person, and que in the car park, in freezing conditions, and wait to be let into the practice" We did just that, and after queing for approximately 15 minutes, in freezing temperatures, we were let in. We spoke with a receptionist, and explained my wife's condition, clearly we needed an emergency appointment. The reply was "sorry we have no appointments, including an emergency" At this stage I saw red, and insisted on seeing the practice manager immediately. The receptionist then tapped a computer, and miraculously came up with an emergency appointment with the duty doctor. We have attended, and fortuitously seen a doctor. Hooray !

Dear Mr Hollis, Thank you for your Feedback, we are sorry to hear that you have experience difficulties getting through on our very busy telephone lines and trying to book an urgent appointment for your wife. I can see that your wife was seen urgently in the end this appointment became free that evening due to 111 had not booked directly into our system, we have to hold some urgents for 111 to book directly into the practice , if they have not used them within their timeframe the practice can re-access them, this is what happen in your wife's case. These are all part of the new changes which NHS england have requested of practices. I can inform you that we have held a Gp partner meeting since your complaint & have made changes to how we release urgent on the day appointments. Please take a look at our practice website as they are now release on the day at 8am for the whole day, then we have to signpost patients to other services to support patients, re 111, Hub appointments or walkin services Finchley Memorial or Urgent care CFH. By using our website for non urgent booking of appointments, this will take pressure of the phone lines, and allow patients who fit urgent criteria to get through as our staff are answering them as quickly has they can. Kind Regards Practice Manager Jane Hollingsworth

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback regarding urgent on the day appts for urgent reasons. The computer releases the urgent appts on times schedule Monday to Friday 8am for the morning session & 3.30pm for the afternoon session. The staff are unable to access any urgent appt before the computer scheduled times. We understand this can be frustrating, but we do need to give all patients a chance to call in at the scheduled times as they are on a scheduled timeframe which the computer releases. You mentioned you rang in 4 mins to the time; this will be discussed in our staff meetings. We do not want to block the busy lines as we do have other patients trying to get through to discussed other matters. Kind Regards Practice Manager
