Review titled Poor practice
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 December 2023
Been with them for 10 years now and always have had problems with them. On a positive note, last year we were abroad and my daughter was very unwell and they still gave us a telephone call. When I was off sick last year, they provided me with a sick note and listened to me and actually tried to encourage me to have longer off, which showed their care. However, the ask my GP service (of past) and the new service are appalling. They’re only open at limited times and most of the time does not open when it says it will be. They have no flexibility and their sexual health drop in does not cater for those of us with full time jobs who cannot afford to take a whole day off to sit and wait. I managed to submit a request today and they text to say they would call today. I have not had a call. I’m expected to wait in all day to no reason, but I cannot ask for a future appointment or be specific with my availability to fit in around work and childcare. I don’t know if it’s just this doctors or the state of the NHS in general. Just having to decide whether to change surgeries or just pay to go private.

Review titled Unbelievable ineffective
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have had nothing but issues with south wigston health centre lately. This is the second time they haven’t been able to refill a prescription because they apparently ‘can’t see it’ and it’s never been prescribed… while I’m holding the box…. In my hand…. After confirming I had an ear infection, at the end of my antibiotics I didnt feel any different so consults them again. They only did a phone appointment so didn’t actually look in my ears and told me to try a nasal spray. A week later I was in excruciating pain so they finally saw me again only to confirm my ears were dangerously infected, to the point I could have lost my hearing. They do not take patients seriously, their staff is ineffective and as I’m in early pregnancy, I will be leaving to a different surgery as I genuinely don’t trust swhc with my pregnancy.

Review titled Phantom GP's
Rated 1 star out of 5

Today asked to see a gp via their ask my gp app and was told a gp would contact me to discuss my issue, however nothing received from them stating when it would be and its now the afternoon. Trying to call them and they state calls are busy and use the ask my gp but it's always closed after 7am and they never reply to you either so a bit of a waste . Then the ivr automated message plays then it plays music for 5 seconds then restarts the welcome message . If I had another one closer that's accepting patients then I would move in a heartbeat but there isn't. No wonder 111 & 999 are so busy and people going to A&E when you have a doctors like this . They need to sort it as it putting a burden on our hospitals

Review titled Very poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been with the surgery for over 30 years but over the past few years, it has really gone downhill. I am on permanent medication that I can't miss a day of, and despite putting in repeat prescription requests weeks in advance, they are ignored and I have to spend hours on the phone trying to speak to someone just to get my prescription every single month as their opening hours are not convenient when you work all day so can't go in the surgery in person and their online system is permanently offline. Despite trying to move away from the surgery, they won't allow me to have more than a month's medication at a time so other surgeries won't accept me. Stuck between a rock and hard place.

Has anyone ever managed to get an appointment? Ask my gp always offline, phone cuts off straight away. The service from this place seems to have plummeted in recent times - look elsewhere - I certainaly will be!!
