Review titled Rude reception staff and terrible service all around
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 June 2024
I have had to see a private specialist at huge cost because I was always unable to see a Gp about my concerns, getting information to the Gp from my specialist has been impossible because there is no email to send documents. 14 months this has taken to get anywhere and the matter is still not resolved by any stretch. The reception staff are all is so officious and rude. When you explain somewhat of the frustration, they say 'not my problem, im only trying to help', which is exactly what they are not doing, saying you are trying to help whilst being obstructive is gaslighting the patient and creating stress. This place is horrible, unhelpful, uncaring, nothing works, the staff are rude both at reception and the nurses also. The nexus app sends constant reminders to get my blood pressure checked, which is fine and yet the real issue never gets resolved. Its mindless rubbish and helping no one coupled with a toxic in-person experience this place is vile!

Review titled Why no new equipment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by unhappy chappy - Posted on 25 November 2023
Received a letter saying annual bp test required please go to nearest surgery and use pod and give in results at reception. I've been into Sir John Kirk Close Surgery a number of times and the BP pod is covered up with a sign saying it is out of order. I'm over 70 y.o. with a few reasons that make getting around difficult so I'm not going to travel to one of the other surgeries. There is a continual procession of new people in reception, some try hard to be nice some couldn't be nice if they tried and each new person gets to hear many patients private details, the staff at a Doctors surgery should be consistant and should not be moved around from surgery to surgery. It's bad enough that all and sundry with any computer skills and access to the system can see your private details and no record kept of who sees your medical files without a turnover of staff so big that would compete with Amazon. No privacy with others in the waiting room hearing everything including personal info that could be used to compromise your privacy and security and personal medical details. Impossible to get an appointment (you should not have to compete to see a Doctor). This gives a clear advantage to certain people who are better at negotiating problems better at using smartphones, have friends in the right places. are more able, are more adept with the English language and systems. It's a disgrace that Doctors on wages the rest of us can only dream about have used the Covid lockdown as a reason/excuse to avoid seeing patients face to face, in fact avoid doing what they get paid to do and continuing it and it's a disgrace what this surgery has turned into since Nexus arrived. They wont even spend the money to fix or replace the ancient BP pod. If you try to make a bad review they give a generic answer saying get in touch when you know that will go nowhere anyway. I reported the pod at reception but the response I got was "Oh it's been that way a while now". When I asked when it would be fixed it was, "no idea". I have my own sphygmomanometer but they will not accept my readings because I'm not qualified. Maybe someone should arrange training with a recognised and accepted cert. for people/patients to do their own BP readings which could even be video'd for authenticity purposes. That would solve this issue. You could probably get funding from somewhere. Anyway, someone please grab our surgery back from this company. Being a part of a consortium of surgeries may suit the doctors but it clearly does not as promised deliver a better service for patients. It delivers an impersonal innefficient lottery of treatment for patients all of whom deserve better. Actually lottery is the wrong word because not even good fortune can get you a face to face with a Doctor.

Hi there - we're sorry that you were unable to check your BP at Sir John Kirk Close surgery. We have now updated our patient letter to remove this surgery as an option while we wait for the repair. You are also able to book an appointment for a BP check with a Health Care Assistant at any Nexus site if that is more suitable for you. We would encourage you to get in contact with your practice team to discuss the issues you have raised. You can do this in person, or via the contact page on our website www.nexushealthgroup.nhs.uk/contact

Review titled reception staff
Rated 4 stars out of 5

went there for my partner appointment and to check results for my smear test . Reception was keep asking to talk louder as they couldn't t hear me. I felt uncomfortable with the request. Not nice, I am sharing my personal health issue with the rest of people sitting and waiting behind me just because the clinic does not remove the glass in front of them or add speakers or anything else to keep conversation a bit more private. Not my fault if you cannot hear me , so you behind the desk, don t give me attitude.

Review titled No longer doing routine appointments
by Carmw73 - Posted on 24 April 2023
My blood test was result was bad, so I was sent a text telling me I needed to book a routine appointment. I ring up and was told they no longer book appointments! Everything is first come first served at 8 am! I HATE the telephone appointment lottery and I have a job, a disability and several long term conditions. How are you supposed to get healthcare like this? I’d go elsewhere, but almost every practice is part of this organisation
