Cant fault the staff, they try their hardest given the situation of the NHS, noticed a new phone option when calling, a call back feature, which I used and received a call back from a courteous staff member who was efficient and helped me out. Thankyou

  4. Review titled Nurse is wonderful.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Came for my routine smear test after a very traumatic experience at my previous gp 3 years ago. The nurse made me feel very comfortable with her kind, patient and warm approach. She did a phenomenal job and the experience was painless and easy. Such a wonderful asset to the surgery and so easy to relax around her. Thank you so much!

  5. Review titled The Appointment System Means I Do Not Have A GP Service

by Lynne Catherine Voyce - Posted on 03 April 2024

Trying to get an appointment at this practise is a persistent problem. I would say that I do not have a GP service, although my taxes pay for such. Again, I have tried to get a routine appointment and it basically becomes a full time job - and there is no guarantee that it will happen. This has been going on for years. I have spent fifteen minutes today and will persevere in the 'bingo queue' in the morning, and so on and so on. Luckily, I have few days off work to devote to trying to get an appointment for a months time.

Morning Ms Voyce, Thankyou for the e-mail - I did reply on the 04.04.2024 but its not showing here and I'm unsure if you have received a reply to your e-mail address. We are sorry that your experiences have been less than satisfactory. we always aim to provide a caring and approachable environment. Are you aware you can book appointments on the NHS APP as well as calling Surgery? You can also order repeat medication and have access to medical notes. I have attached the link below if you are interested in registering for the APP, registering is usually straight forward and in most cases you do not need help from Surgery. Please visit https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/account. there is information on there about registering Also yesterday 07.05.2024 Surgery changed its phone system. We believe the new provider will be beneficial to our Patients and staff using the software. If you wish to discuss your review in more details, please contact the surgery direct so we may be able to resolve any further issues you have. Kind regards

  6. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Teresa - Posted on 30 April 2024

Tried to call the surgery multiple times to book an appointment starting at 8 am and then exactly at 1 pm however, the iline was either already at full capacity or my call got stuck when I was caller number 3 ( this happened when I called around 10 am and 1:40 pm). I also tried with the NHS app but it only shows available phlebotomist or vaccination appointments. I had the same issue in the past but never complained before. This time it was too much as I also went there in person just to be told to call back by phone at 1 pm, then I called exactly at 1 pm (really exactly) and the line was already at full capacity.

Morning Teresa, Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry for a delay in replying. We are sorry that your experience has been less than satisfactory. The Practice always aims to provide a caring approachable environment. If I may explain a little about how the APP works and what you are seeing. When Patients look on the APP if they are only seeing as mentioned above Phlebotomist or travel vaccines or shingles/flu clinics, we do not have a GP appointment to offer at that time, and what is shown is all that is available. Patients can look at any time of day or night for appointments but on the day appointments are released at 8.20 and 1.20 daily. We understand the frustration of the phones and unfortunately patients will start calling before 8am and 1pm we cannot control this. On the 07.05.2024 Surgery invested in a new phone system - while it is early days this is proving positive, Patients now have the ability to request a 'call back' from Surgery, (please note this doesn't guarantee an appointment) BUT rather allows the patient to get on with their daily lives while they wait to work down the phone queue. I hope this has answered some of your issues above, if you would like to discuss in more detail please contact the surgery direct. Kind regards

  7. Review titled Unable to get an appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ranbir Bains - Posted on 28 February 2024

I would not describe myself as vulnerable but my heart goes out to those that would describe themselves as such. I have been unable to get an appointment have tried via NHS app and by ringing the surgery. I appreciate this problem is a national scandal however Sherwood Practice could do better than merely informing patients their lines are full to capacity and to ring back. Knowing the same message will be announced. Perhaps they could suggest a more likely way to get an appointment. Or just tell patients they are no longer offering a GP service.

Dear Ranbir Thank you for the e-mail. We are sorry that your experience has been less than satisfactory. Surgery always strives to provide a caring and approachable environment. In relation to your last statement - 'or tell patients they are no longer offering a GP service' last week alone we saw over 1200 patients. Today 29.02.2024 @ 9.32am we had the following appointments showing on the NHS APP. 8 Web telephone appointments for today 29.02.2024 1 face to face for the 07.03.2024 1 telephone appointment for the 01.03.2024 1 telephone appointment for the 07.03.2024 We understand the frustration Patients are feeling and are looking at ways to address issues - We are in the process of looking at a new phone system. The phone capacity of 20 callers, calling the Surgery at any one time was set by the Surgery PPG group (Patient Participation Group) We would appreciate if you could contact us directly so that we may resolve any issues you may have.

Dear Mr Crawley, We are sorry that your experience has been less than satisfactory. The Practice always aims to provide a caring and approachable environment. I believe you may be a new Patient to the Surgery - if this is the case, then you will need to arrange a telephone/face to face appointment with a GP to go over your medication requirements before medication is put on repeat. I have looked at your online access and you have the same access as other Patients, so ordering repeats once the appointment has taken place and medication has been agreed, will be shown on the APP. You can book appointments via the APP as well as calling the Surgery. The Practice is in the process of changing the phone system to one, which we believe will benefit the Patients. We would appreciate it if you can contact the Surgery direct so that we may resolve any further issues you may have. Kind regards

  9. Review titled Awful practise

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2023

I phoned this morning at 9am for a call back for my father who is 95 and was very chesty and having difficulty breathing. After waiting in a queue for 28 minutes I was told that “sorry we have no appointments for today, ring back tomorrow” this is totally unacceptable for a surgery, a phone call takes 5 minutes and to be told to ring back tomorrow is totally unacceptable. I had to phone an ambulance for my father as there was no other way he would get treatment, which puts extra strain on the ambulance service when the GP should have phoned him back. This surgery has obviously taken on too many patients and cannot cope with the demand. Appalling and disgusting service, avoid this surgery at all costs!

  10. Review titled Trouble getting appointments

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2023

I have been with this practice forever and I have nothing but praise for the staff and especially the Doctors. However getting an appointment is ridiculous in the extreme. Phone at 8 phone at one etc and impossible to book on nhs app unless for bloods or shingles. I have been on antidepressants or Peroxetine 40mg per day for over twenty years and am having to ration my meds because only got 2 days worth left and because of this am feeling unwell with brain zaps etc I explained this to reception and was told phone at 8 or 1 I’m going to be quite ill if I run out. All I want is phone consultation to give the ok for prescription. It is very frustrating. And affecting my mental health. The system needs an overhaul for booking appointments. It’s not fit for purpose
