Took my daughter to this surgery to make appointment, was told a six week wait. Was told i couldn't fill in a triage form, but was told today that i could. I was lied to by the receptionist, i now have to take my daughter to hospital to be seen by paediatrics

Review titled Useless service.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by MR STEPHEN PAYNE - Posted on 24 June 2024
My wife phoned this morning concerned about a possible cancerous mole. Was told there were no appointments for 5/6 weeks and that she would have to go via triage the next morning to get one. Given her concern, I said for her to go to a private GP as this can't wait. The practice is poorly run/organised and appears to need a complete overhaul re appointments and management. I feel sorry for anyone with similar concerns who can't go private.

Dear Mr Payne Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are extremely sorry to read of your disappointment and can fully understand your concerns. We have listened to the phone call between your wife and our Receptionist. Whilst the Receptionist did everything correctly, she did not offer alternative solutions and for this I sincerely apologise. We have asked her manager to review this with the member of staff as there is a training issue to be addressed. It is not our intention to make access to appointments difficult and the on-line triage system we have put in place does, in fact, enable us to ensure patients are sign-posted appropriately. Your wife was sent the link to the on-line triage process and she is very welcome to complete and submit this tomorrow morning, and we can assure you this will be clinically reviewed and prioritised accordingly. With our best wishes Seaford Medical Practice

The doctor was late, rushed me,didn't listen and has left me with a 5 week wait for ecg and blood tests despite very high blood pressure, palpitations and breathlessness!! Let's hope I live long enough for these tests!

Review titled Poor treatment
Rated 1 star out of 5

I'm 67 and have what I presume are the inevitable 'age spots'. Having one that seemed to appear over a couple of days and quite big and dark I thought it best to get them all checked out. I haven't seen mine or any Doctor at the practise for a few years now as not one to go there unless absolutely necessary. Having finally managed to get a message through to triage, an appointment was made to see a paramedic. Whilst I am in awe of their skills, I can't imagine one of their skills is deciding if my 'age spots' are just that. Paramedic did take photos and consult with a dermatologist but I have come away a feeling of not being 100% satisfied that they were not physically checked by the right person. Photos are not a substitute for a physical examination. As a patient who very rarely bothers the Doctor I feel let down.

Review titled Poor service with regards to getting to speak/ see a Doctor.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Georgina Craigs - Posted on 02 November 2023
Today I called to see (ha! ha!) or speak with a Doctor with an on going medical condition. I was informed that my GP had a face to face appointment in 5 weeks, and I had to call at 8am tomorrow with the link completed on line. I am 75, and I need medical treatment I was advised to call 111 and they arranged consultation today on the phone however, by midnight (guess what) Nothing.I am relying on Cameron’s pharmacy to give me advice but I need a review as the medication can only be taken safely for 28 days. I fail to understand how the NHS website says the surgery is taking on new patients! I have no alternative but to try and find another practice or go private as this practice has lost the plot regarding appointments and should be ashamed of themselves.

Review titled Efficient & effective, modern way forward.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by jennifer langley - Posted on 29 October 2023
Contrary to many others I found the new triage system excellent. I had a phone consultation first then a face to face appt with my GP followed up by various investigations. This system is surely better than the old one when one would see a GP for a condition which could be dealt with by other health care professionals, of which this practise has many. Earlier this year I had an ongoing cough which was dealt with by a Paramedic who examined me & then prescribed me with an Antibiotic & option to return if it didn't clear up within 10days or so. That didn't need GP. Worked perfectly

Review titled No longer a caring practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by B F Harrington - Posted on 23 October 2023
Being a patient with stage 4 lung cancer and multiple myeloma. I made an appointment with my surgery at the beginning of August. Having written a letter insisting on a face to face. I had been experiencing pain on my left side for months. I eventually got an appointment, the Dr concerned showed little interest and arranged an ultrasound. Without any physical examination he speculated it might a hernia. The fact the Dr was going on holiday the following day it would seem inquiring about my ongoing cancer wasn’t a priority. I had an Ultrasound 2 weeks later at the surgery. Having waited now for 2 months for the results there has being no follow up from my GP. My previous GP would have made a brief call to alleviate any worries taking into account my underlying health conditions. I am now at the stage where I feel that I don’t have that primary care and support from this surgery. It was once a remarkable surgery with caring Drs that genuinely offered not just care but a lot of support. With little support for your physical wellbeing or mental health it seems you are just left to manage everything yourself.Having been with the surgery for nearly 20 years it is sad that I now feel I been let down by my surgery since my previous Dr has left to go to a more progressive and caring surgery.

Review titled Prescriptions
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 July 2023
It is now getting near on impossible to get a repeat prescription a. On time b. Not lost at surgery c. Jammed in the printer . Every (without exception) prescription request is wrong ! You phone them , you clearly write your request , they actually issued the wrong medication , the one they advised to be withdrawn and did not issue the correct one . This cannot surely be acceptable!
