I was contacted on a Saturday morning by the pharmacist linked to my surgery. He was informative, helpful and listened. He came up with some solutions and suggestions.

  3. Review titled Don't know your protocols yet

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Kwabena Appiah Baah - Posted on 08 March 2024

I registered with the GP and was booked for an appointment. The day before the appointment day I had an incident and had to visit the GP prior to my appointment. However, I was told at the front desk that I didn't have an appointment so I had to walk in. This is a person who had indicated that I am new here and don't know anywhere. The receptionist told me she isn't from Walsall and so, doesn't know where the nearest hospital is. Besides, walking was extremely difficult for me because of the condition in which I was. Had someone not called an ambulance for me, I don't know what would happen to me. As at the time of completing this form, I'm still on admission.

  5. Review titled Excellent Supportive Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mr A Rowland - Posted on 08 March 2024

Following having possible respiratory symptom due to chronic health condition I was telephoned and discussion the symptom and agreed plan of action. The clinical staff are a extremely caring and understanding towards vulnerable patients with mental health diagnosis and ASD /Aspergers Syndrome which means a lot to many other patients including myself. I feel very happy generally with standard of medical advice and treatment as reception staff try there upmost hardest to be the best they can and in this instance contacted practice pharmacist to process consultant letter for medication. I feel the warm welcome and general understanding of patients with additional support needs is very good and they try to accommodate where possible like today a practitioner who myself is familiar with .very well done keep up the Brilliant work.

My original appointment was cancelled due to the sudden sickness of the person I was so see, but was immediately rescheduled within a reasonable time frame. The new appointment went smoothly and with the efficiency I have been used to receive from them.

  10. Review titled Mixed Review

Rated 3 stars out of 5

After having erratic brittle diabetic presentation which appears to cause reduced ability to fight infection generally. I attended on the 29th February 24 to see the GP who I explained that I've attended the Minor Eye conditions service who has exhausted all available guidance, advice and treatment options. They recommended a short course of second line antibiotic Eye drops which ive competed course of treatment and was advised I need referral to see secondary care dermatologist the GP refused to make referral based on there clinical opinion saying that its there choice even after having two face to face appointments and they gave a fare more detailed Eye assessment than go surgery. I having been using Hycosan Extra Eye drops as artificial tears which are giving some symptomatic relief and where recommended by opticians because of effectiveness and non preservatives. I have symptoms of having pain when opening Eye , increased smelly discharge, flaky dry skin near Eye, and gritty feeling in both Eye with various intensity non resolving for six months. I have found these hycosan extra Eye drops for a reason and the GP feels the opticians has never worked in the real nhs and can be derogatory and saying you can't try something different every two days which is false and misleading. I was told to go and buy them. If I feel I need them even with limited income she wasn't really being caring and diplomatic to my circumstances. The optician has had to undertake referral to opthalmology as this is the only service they can refer into called adult opthalmology assessment service and told my nicely If they feel it could be a dermatology issues either dermatitis or some type of skin infection they can get me seen and transferred in house all though this is delaying care and treatment. The GP surgery generally have been excellent in regards to access to appointments priding themselves in taking care of there own patients given them a warm friendly welcome which is very well done. They also have a high standard of service and are very patient centered and are kind and understanding in relation to patients with additional support requirements including neurodevelopmental disorder, ASD and mental health but feel they could improve on the amount of advanced booking slots. I also feel the lack of availability of appointment through put the day makes the service undesirable as the reception staff refer onto local urgent treatment Centre ot emergency department which is completely unacceptable and very concerning which is not what it's there foe in the reality .
